Calendar Seasons System

1999 will utilize a new playable Calendar system similar to The Circuit in Duviri, but themed according to 4 changing Seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each week in 1999 will represent a new "Season," and gameplay will vary.

Technocyte Coda Deep Dive

As with the Grineer and Corpus before them, the Infestation will enjoy its own Adversary system when 1999 launches, called the "Technocyte Coda." Noticeably different from Kuva Liches and Sisters of Parvos, the Technocyte Coda system will nonetheless enable Tenno to earn a new suite of ultra-powerful Infested Weaponry.

Bringing Warframe to this year's Tokyo Game Show was an unforgettable experience, and we were thrilled to showcase the Origin System from our booth at Hall 07-C01! We're grateful to everyone who joined us in person, as well as those who kept the hype train rolling from home. If you missed out on the excitement as it happened in Japan, we've compiled a brief recap for you below — including some stellar shots taken directly from the show floor.

Devstream 181

Just a few days before the update launched, Devstream 181 unveiled Koumei & the Five Fates. Watch the Japanese version of the official gameplay trailer below, featuring the voice talent of Kenjiro Tsuda:

Creative Director Rebecca Ford and Community Director Megan Everett took us deeper than ever into the recent update, which includes several new Deluxe Skins, Reworks, QoL enhancements, and so much more. They even returned the following day with a Bonus Recap stream, ensuring that everyone got an up-close look at the content-to-come.

In addition to Koumei, the team announced an upcoming playable demo for Warframe: 1999[www.warframe.com], and a free Caliban giveaway[www.warframe.com] running until October 16!

Mobile Showcase

Attendees were treated to a new iOS trailer during the Mobile Gaming Show, presented by Future Games Show and hosted by Warframe: 1999 voice actor Ben Starr:

Released as part of a wider push into the Japanese market, the latest trailer highlights Warframe's deep customization, mobile-optimized graphics and epic narrative. Android users who are hoping to join Warframe on Mobile can watch out for a launch date signup list before the end of the year.

At The Event

Our booth offered a broad look at all things Warframe, designed to entice fans but also introduce the Origin System to new Tenno for the first time. Those in attendance may have noticed some of the same eye-catching designs we recently featured at TennoCon 2024!

A variety of activities and demonstrations helped bring Warframe to life:

Parkour Display

What better way to help prospective Tenno get a feel for Warframe's unique style of movement than by watching a live parkour show? The gravity-defying traversal of a Warframe is one thing in-game, but seeing it live in front of you is something else entirely. Thank you to our talented (and athletic) performers!

Appearance by Alpha Takahashi

In addition to appearing live on stage with Rebecca and Megan during Devstream 181, actor Alpha Takahashi also appeared at the Warframe booth to mingle with fans and build excitement for her upcoming role as Aoi in Warframe: 1999.

Live Demonstration

Warframe is a vast and deep experience. As such, we understand how overwhelming it can sometimes be — especially for new Tenno. Fortunately, our booth featured an enrapturing live demonstration of the game's various systems and features, and served as a helpful (and entertaining) introduction to the journey awaiting them.

Demo Stations

Of course, there's no better way to understand the feel of a Warframe than by jumping right in and trying one out for yourself! Our booth included several PC and console setups so that attendees could experience our frenetic, fast-paced combat in real-time.

Merch and Giveaways

Official Warframe Merchandise on hand included a Warframe logo'd T-shirt (available in either white or black), along with a Warframe: 1999-themed towel.

A special gacha machine was set up to dispense Void Relics to eager fans containing various Warframe-themed pins, keychains and personal Platinum codes.

Welcome to Warframe! There’s a wide world of intense action in front of you and we’re glad that you’re joining us in the Origin System. As you awake from cryosleep and take control of your chosen Warframe, there are some things you might not know about the game. To help familiarize you with Warframe, we’re offering this handy list of tips. These should have you bullet jumping into the action in no time!

Complete The Star Chart First
The Star Chart[www.warframe.com] is your map of the entire Origin System. Progressing through each Junction and following the main Quests[www.warframe.com] should be your primary focus. As you progress through Junctions, you’ll find yourself unlocking new planets and Mission locations, which will reward you with new Warframes and resources. Without a completed Star Chart, you won’t have access to certain resources needed to craft future Warframes, equipment, and other upgrades.

Come Back to the Open Landscapes Later
While Open Landscapes[www.warframe.com] like the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis will appear early in your journey, it’s best to move beyond them and return later. The highest-level Bounties and opportunities to rank up with Syndicates found in these locations will require some foundational Warframe knowledge and upgraded loadouts that you’ll gain as you fill out your Star Chart. They’ll still be there when you come back!

Stick To Squads Early On
You can queue up for missions as a solo player, but Warframe is generally meant to be enjoyed in multiplayer[www.warframe.com] squads. A squad of Tenno is much faster when it comes to completing objectives and finishing off foes. If you’re brand-new and you find that veteran players zoom ahead without you, don’t get discouraged; with time, you’ll settle into the same pace. It might also help you to queue up for missions with a friend who can walk you through some aspects of missions you might not understand.

Pursue Mastery Ranks
Your Mastery Rank is the level of your Warframe account, a tangible marker of your overall progress. In fact, certain events and equipment are locked behind higher Mastery Ranks! You can check your current Mastery Rank in the top-left corner of the Main Menu, or by selecting “Profile” and then “My Profile” on the same menu screen.

You gain Mastery Ranks by using Warframes and Weapons in missions, which levels them up. Raising your Mastery Rank quickly requires fully Mastering all the Warframes and Weapons available to you, which tends to happen at Rank 30. Even if you find a particular Warframe or Weapon isn’t your favorite, Master it before you move on!

The Codex Is Your Friend
If you have a question about a specific Warframe, Mod, or the vast array of enemies coming after you, look into your Codex! The Codex is an in-game database of information on Warframe. You can find the Codex console in your Orbiter on the left side, or access it through the Main Menu under the “Profile” section. The Codex is also where you can keep track of all of the main and side quests available to you; if you want to dive deep into the story of Warframe, the Codex is where you start.

Equip Your Mods
Mods are a key aspect of enhancing your Warframes and Weapons. Without any Mods equipped, you only reach a fraction of your potential strength. A good practice in Missions is to explore and loot everything. In time, and with enough Missions, you should be collecting Mods at a steady pace. While the system looks complex, we have a handy guide[www.warframe.com] that should help you get your Warframes fit for the fight. Make sure to always equip Mods to reach your Warframe or Weapon’s maximum capacity. Pro tip: Early on, you only need one copy of most Mods, so dissolve the duplicates into Endo!

Master The Bullet Jump
Early in the game, you’ll be taught one of the primary movements mechanics in Warframe: the Bullet Jump. This move is done by crouching and then jumping, which shoots your Warframe forward a good distance. Combined with other moves like the Double Jump, or aiming your Weapon while jumping to slow your fall with the Aim Glide, the Bullet Jump is how most players get around in Warframe. Learn to chain bullet jumps together by Bullet Jumping into a slide by crouching again, putting you into the right position to Bullet Jump once again.

As an additional tip, if you aim your camera upwards prior to your Bullet Jump, the jump will be aimed upwards, shooting you high into the air. This additional movement technique can make a substantial difference when traversing the environment in your earliest missions.

Use The Market and The Foundry
Part of gaining power in Warframe is through new equipment[www.warframe.com]. While you’ll be given some Weapons and Warframes just by progressing through the game, most will need to be crafted in the Foundry. Before you craft a Weapon however, you need to pick up the Blueprint for that weapon.

Some Blueprints can be found on the Market, which is accessible through the Market console in your Orbiter or the “Market” section of the Main Menu. In the Weapons section of the Market, you’ll find available Weapons. Click through and you’ll find the option to buy the Blueprint for a Weapon, usually with Credits. With that Blueprint, you can return to the Foundry and assuming you have the right resources, start building a new Weapon. You'll also have the option to instantly add that Weapon or Warframe to your Arsenal with Platinum, the premium currency in Warframe.

Join a Clan
Clans in Warframe are persistent groups of like-minded players. While you might be tempted to go solo, joining a Clan gives you access to the Clan Dojo. Not only is a Dojo a great place to congregate with other players, it also gives you access to the labs, which offer Clan-exclusive Blueprints for Weapons, Warframes, and Resources. We’re all working together in Warframe, so it’s good to make friends!

Take Your Time
There’s a lot of fun within Warframe, but as a new player you can’t do everything. If you try to complete everything shown in your Star Chart and Navigation console, you’ll be pulled in a hundred different directions trying to complete Alerts, Nightwave missions, Events, and more. Once you’ve completed the Star Chart and finished the main quests, find the aspect of Warframe that speaks to you, whether that’s Open Landscapes, Alerts, or even just fishing! Take your time and find out what’s fun for you.

As announced on Devstream 181, we’re improving the login experience for users that launch Warframe from Steam with the introduction of Account Binding and Auto-Login in the Koumei & The Five Fates update!

This is accurate at the time of writing, if there are any changes they will be reflected in the Koumei & The Five Fates update patch notes.

Account Binding
Account Binding allows a Warframe account to bind to a Steam account, so that upon launching Warframe from Steam you do not need to input your credentials to log in. Instead, clicking the “Login With Steam” button will log you right into the game and bypass this step!

What to Expect:
After Koumei & The Five Fates goes live, when you launch Warframe from Steam and click the “Login With Steam” button you will be prompted to bind your Steam account to either:

1. An existing Warframe account OR
   
2. A new Warframe Account that’ll be automatically bound to the Steam account you are signed into

Binding Existing Warframe Account:

1. Select the “Bind Existing” option to bind an existing Warframe account to the Steam account you are currently logged into.

2. Fill the email and password fields with the credentials associated with the Warframe account you want to bind to the Steam account you are currently logged into and hit “Confirm”.

• NOTE: Please check to make sure that you are linking the correct accounts (both your Warframe AND Steam account), as the link cannot be undone.
  
• TennoGuard Two-Factor Authentication[www.warframe.com] is required to bind a Warframe account to protect against fraud and prevent someone from binding your Warframe account to the wrong Steam account.
  
• If you have TennoGuard enabled on the Warframe account you are attempting to bind, upon hitting “Confirm” you will be prompted to enter a code that was sent to your email. Once entered, you have completed the account binding process!

Warframe accounts bound to Steam still adhere to the Cross Platform Save restrictions (more details in our FAQ[www.warframe.com]).

This new Account Binding system replaces the Steam Economy binding and operates the same way – meaning, in order to purchase TennoGen from the Steam Store (specifically from the website, in-game Market not impacted), you must bind a Warframe account to a Steam account.

• If you have bound a Warframe account to Steam Economy before Koumei & The Five Fates launches, you may encounter the following scenarios depending on the Warframe and Steam accounts you attempt to bind through the new Account Binding system launching the the update (expand spoilers):

Scenario A: If I have Steam account A already bound to Warframe account A with Steam Economy, but I go to bind Steam account A to Warframe account B, C, D. etc. after Koumei & The Five Fates launches, I will not be able to, and will receive an error and have to submit a ticket to support. This is because that Steam account is already bound to a Warframe account, and cannot be bound twice.

Scenario B: If I have Steam account A already bound to Warframe account A with Steam Economy, but then I go to bind Steam Account B, C, D etc... to Warframe account A after Koumei & The Five Fates launches, I will not be able to, and will receive an error and have to submit a ticket to support. This is because that Warframe account is already bound to a Steam account, and cannot be bound twice.

Scenario C: If I have Steam account A already bound to Warframe account A through Steam Economy before the update next week, I will NOT have issues with the new account binding system after Koumei & The Five Fates launches as long as I am binding Steam Account A to Warframe account A

Note: Other purchases made from the Steam Store do not require you to bind to Steam Economy, only if you had specifically purchased TennoGen.

Creating and Binding New Warframe Account:

Select the “Create New” option to create a new Warframe account that will be bound to the Steam account you are currently logged into.

You will be required to read and agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and pick a display name.

• NOTE: Creating a new Warframe account via the Steam launcher will automatically bind it to the Steam account you are currently logged into. Please check to make sure you are linking the correct Steam account to the new Warframe account, as the link cannot be undone.

NOTE: It’s important to keep in mind that Account Binding allows anyone to enter your Warframe account by clicking the “Login with Steam” button without having to input your credentials. We recommend that you log out of your Steam account while not in use to ensure account security – more information on how to protect your account in our “Best Practices for Account Security”[support.warframe.com] support article.

Auto Login
Once you have bound a Warframe and Steam account, you will be able to use the new Auto Login feature, which automatically signs you in and loads you into the game immediately after launching Warframe from Steam.

How to Set Up:
It’s as easy as clicking the “Auto Login” checkbox below the “Login With Steam” button!

It can also be enabled/disabled using the “Steam Auto Login” toggle in the Social tab Options:

How to disable Auto Login:

1. Log out from the Esc menu by going to Profile > Log Out
   
2. Go to your Options > Social > Steam Auto Login and toggle off
