THE MOVEMENT

Omnimovement

Global innovation (SP, MP, RBZ, WZ)

A genre-defining game changer across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone, Omnimovement immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving and a newly enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion.

5cecd8aafe0348152b5920adee07ad28232c51f2.jpg

This might sound intimidating to try, but Omnimovement is designed for players of all different skill levels, and you’re able (and encouraged) to learn how to really take advantage of these maneuvering innovations prior to your first Beta match:

In the Multiplayer Beta, you can access the Training Course by selecting “Find a Match” in the Lobby. You’re dropped into the MP Map Protocol (which is otherwise a launch map), where Frank Woods is on hand to offer you some “encouragement.” It’s here you can fully learn your Omnimovement capabilities, as well as optionally testing out the Intelligent Movement system (see below).

Omnimovement Basics: At its most basic level, Omnimovement allows you to Sprint, Slide, and Dive in any direction. Be sure you perfect the following:

Sprinting forward, sideways, or backwards.

Shooting targets while sliding or diving forward, sideways, or backwards.

The 180 Degree Combat Dive: Combine Omni-Sprint and 180-degree dives like a true Black Ops action hero with a technique designed to show off Omnimovement and act as a springboard for your own maneuvering combinations. You can:

Sprint towards the edge of a building, then dive from the edge.

As you’re diving in mid-air, you quickly rotate yourself to face an enemy situated behind you.

As you finish your dive, you should be firing to eliminate the enemy.

Combat Supine: Master the supine position to effectively counter ambushes and enhance your combat skills.

Drop to a prone position, then rotate your Operator for a complete 360-degree view of your surroundings.

Locate the positions of nearby enemies.

Then fire to eliminate the enemy quickly as they appear, all the while staying in the supine position.

Combat Slide and Dive: Use the element of surprise against enemies by combining Omni-Sprint with Combat Slides and Dives.

Quickly sprint towards a door (closed or open) or another threshold.

Evade enemy gunfire by Diving or Sliding through the opening.

Then quickly aim and fire to eliminate enemies positioned to the left or right of your ending position.

Intelligent Movement

Global innovation (SP, MP, RBZ, WZ)

In addition to Omnimovement, Black Ops 6 also features Intelligent Movement, which is a brand-new way for players to customize three elements of how Operators traverse the landscape. Available in the Keyboard & Mouse or Controller Options under “Movement,” you’re able to adjust the following features:
  • Sprint Assist: Choose whether you want to manually or automatically sprint, tactically sprint, how much of a delay you want before sprinting begins, and if the assist occurs while sprinting sideways or backwards (due to Omnimovement).
  • Mantle Assist: Customize whether you want you automatically mantle over no objects, low obstacles, or all obstacles that can be mantled.
  • Crouch Assist: This enables crouching and sliding when your intent is to move through a valid opening (i.e., one requiring you to crouch).
  • Corner Slice: Allows you to simulate a corner slice, the act of inclining your weapon (and camera) when adjacent to or moving around a corner. This doesn’t affect your aim. Default is “on.”
7dfb0e838e66e7d1f4770a2afff98debb9d4c939.jpg

Sprint Assist: You can choose how this behaves. This can be switched off (default), turned on, or just related to Tactical Sprint Assist.

Off: Sprint is activated manually with the Sprint button.

On: Full movement input will activate Sprint after the Sprint Assist Delay time.

Tactical Sprint Assist: Forward movement input will activate Tactical Sprint after the Sprint Assist Delay time. Sideways and Backward movement can also be separated to activate Sprint after the Sprint Assist Delay time.

Sprint Assist Delay: This is the amount of time (in milliseconds) of movement input before Sprint Assist activates. You can choose from zero (default) to 1,000 milliseconds (or one second) delay in 50 millisecond increments.

Sprint Assist Sideways and Backwards: Default is “on” and allows Sprint Assist to activate when moving in the specified directions.

Mantle Assist: You can choose how this behaves. This can be switched off (default), set to Low Mantle Assist, or turned on.

Off: Mantling (the movement over traversable objects) is activated contextually with the Jump button.

Low Mantle Assist: Mantle Assist activates when sprinting towards low obstacles.

On: Mantle Assist activates when sprinting towards all obstacles that can be mantled.

Sideways and Backwards: Mantle Assist can also be activated when sprinting sideways or backwards towards low obstacles. Default is “off” for both, though they can be set to “on” for either or both movement options.

Tactical Sprint Only: You can set Mantle Assist to activate only while Tactical Sprinting. Default is “off.”

Mantle Cancels Reload: Mantle Assist activates while reloading, canceling the reload. Default is “on.”

Crouch Assist: You can enable or disable this function:

Off: This is the default setting and allows you to Crouch or Slide manually with the Change Stance button.

On: Crouch Assist activates when Walking or Sprinting forward towards a valid opening.

Tactical Sprint Only: Crouch Assist only activates when Tactical Sprinting towards a valid opening. Default is “off.”

TIP: You’re encouraged to change your Intelligent Movement settings prior to, or between matches until you find the customizable choice you prefer. There’s an entire Training Course map where you can spend time perfecting your Intelligent Movement choices, and this is also available to utilize during the Beta.

A MORE APPROACHABLE GUNSMITH

Global innovation (MP, RBZ, WZ)

137560347d479a9ba8569c45cd5f497e51c10bc4.jpg

With a more streamlined navigational experience, choosing a Loadout has never been quicker and easier. This includes a reworking of the Weapon Gunsmith to make it much more approachable, allowing you to choose from the vast array of unlockable weapon attachments with a renewed set of confidence that the build you’re making is suited to your exact style of play.

And thanks to the Black Ops 6 Global Weapon Builds (read on for more intel), your weapon creations can be shared across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone!

It all starts in the Weapons Menu, and it’s here you’ll choose your Loadouts. While Black Ops 6 is set to bring an exceptional arsenal of weaponry and equipment to the game – including 12 weapons all-new to the franchise – the following information details the streamlining and innovations made to the Gunsmith, beginning with Attachments.

Gunsmith: Attachments

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

Looking back at how approachable the weapons systems of Black Ops 2 was, served as a huge inspiration for the Weapons Team, and though there are no plans to return to that system, the focus for Black Ops 6 is to condense and streamline Attachments so a player always feels positive and understands the bonuses when it comes to utilizing the Gunsmith. Here are some of the changes:
  • Gaining the Advantage: Attachments almost always come with a benefit (Pro), and not a detriment (Con), so you know you’re creating a weapon more potent than the base version.
  • Optics for All…: Almost all Optic Attachments are shared across all weapons in a Weapons Class. For example, unlock the Red Dot Sight with a SMG and you’ll be able to equip it to all SMGs in the Weapon Class.
  • … Everything Else is Unique: All other Attachment Types – Muzzle, Barrel, Underbarrel, Magazine, Rear Grip, Stock, Laser, and Fire Mods – are unique to the weapon in question.
  • Getting Specific: Instead of having a weapon function – such as ADS speed – being affected by multiple attachments that are difficult to keep track of, they are related to a single Attachment type.
    • For example, equipping a “Rear Grip” Attachment will always improve your handling, and the grip you choose will boost a unique combination of handling stats (to Sprint to Fire Speed, Slide to Fire Speed, Dive to Fire Speed, ADS Speed, or a combination thereof). All the different grips are designed to improve the weapon’s potency, not reduce it.
  • Information is Power: The net result of this new system – which we’ve just scratched the surface of – is that it allows players to make informed weapon-building decisions easily and create effective Builds without constantly needing looking up “meta” builds online.
  • Details Matter: Don’t mistake this streamlining as “dumbing down” the Gunsmith, as your Firepower, Accuracy, Handling, and Mobility statistics can also be seen in an expanded view, with individual elements like Reload Quickness, Recoil Gun Kick, and Bullet Velocity all available to compare in granular detail. There are over 30 stats you can view and improve in the expanded view. Note this view will not be accessible during the Black Ops 6 Beta.
Gunsmith: Weapon Leveling

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

456c0c953590d26d0c593296472664216bcd8624.jpg

Every Black Ops 6 weapon has its own Weapon Leveling journey to progress through and complete. Most Primary Weapons have between 40-50 Weapon Levels, with each level providing access to a different Attachment unique to the Weapon or a Class Optic that can be used with any Weapon in the Class. While we’re talking Optics, players will no longer need to unlock each Weapon’s Optic “Node” as part of the Weapon Leveling journey. Instead, players will have access to the Optic Attachment Category from Weapon Level 1 and can immediately equip any of their favorite previously unlocked Class Optics when starting out with a new Weapon.

Gunsmith: Global Weapon Builds

Global Innovation (MP, RBZ, WZ)

918e4d9e860b8c5ceffd7f979371b6c1308dc836.jpg

Perfecting your favorite weapon loadout builds or Blueprints doesn’t need to be done more than once, as Black Ops 6 brings the concept of Global Weapon Builds into a reality across all three modes (Black Ops 6, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone). This Loadout and Gunsmith usability improvement is a huge time-saver, as it allows you to make a change to any Build or blueprint in any game, and it permeates out everywhere the gun is equipped. Look for more information on this exciting feature soon!

Gunsmith: Cosmetics

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

Across Black Ops 6, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone, the Cosmetics for your weapons feature a wide variety of content to unlock, which is further subdivided into the following categories:
  • Camo: The place to begin an epic grind to unlock Weapon Camos, including Mastery Camos for Multiplayer, Zombies, and for the first time, a dedicated Camo Challenge system for Call of Duty: Warzone!
  • Reticle: Expect robust customization and unlock challenges for optic reticles, across all three modes!
  • Weapon Accessories: Affix a small charm from your collection or a Gun Screen onto the side of your weapon.
  • Large Decals: Add some customization to your weapon by adding a Large Decal to the side of the armament.
  • Stickers: Further add custom flourishes by placing up to three stickers in designated areas across your weapon. In Black Ops 6, players can equip both three Stickers and a Large Decal simultaneously with no limitations.
It’s worth spending some time looking at the Reticle and Weapon Camo challenges Black Ops 6 will have to offer:

Weapon Camos and Mastery Camos

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

c0ac7263b63826e58da1392400cbd0520d9fa3f4.jpg

Weapon Camos are cosmetic patterns that cover a large portion of every weapon and are unlocked via specific “Camo Challenges”. For Black Ops 6, expect a serious undertaking, set to test the mettle of even the most battle-hardened grinder! The variety of camos to unlock at launch is impressive, includes a dedicated camo track for Call of Duty: Warzone for the first time.

Veterans of Black Ops should be happy to learn that the way many of the camos are unlocked takes inspiration from previous titles.

All three modes have a full set of Camo Challenges, for each weapon in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Each Weapon’s Camo journey is broken up into three categories – featuring a mix of elements from traditional Black Ops Camo Systems of past as well as modern Camo Challenge elements seen in recent titles:

[[CAPTION]] A showcase of the Dynamic properties of the Dark Matter (Column 1, MP), Nebula (Column 2, RBZ) and Abyss (Column 3, WZ) Mastery Camos.

Step 1: Military Camos: Progress through nine linear Military Camo styles, usually by reaching Headshot milestones with the weapon. Launchers, Knives, and Shotguns have different criteria.

Step 2: Unique Camos: After completing the Weapon’s nine Military Camos, players will gain access to two Challenges to earn Unique Camos. Each Weapon has two Unique Camos, per mode (six total). Unique Camos can be completed in either order, and once completed Unique Camo swatches can be used with any other Weapon that has also completed its nine Military Camos.

Step 3: Mastery Camos: Once through the Military and Unique Camos, advance into the weapon’s four Mastery Camos. See below for a full reveal of these Mastery camos!

Expect this exact same trackable setup in Zombies and Call of Duty: Warzone, effectively meaning three sets of unlockable camos depending on the game you’re playing. Black Ops 6 also has a “Camo HUB” menu to help you keep track of all your weapon camo unlocks, where you can check each weapon class (for example, SMGs or Handguns), and how your grind is going on a per-camo challenge, per-weapon basis!

Let’s delve into the three different camo types:

Military Camos

Nine Camos Per Weapon, per game (27 per weapon)

These camo types are consistent across every gun in the game, and progression is extremely straightforward. For the majority of Primary Weapons, you unlock Military camos in order by completing Headshot challenges, and you unlock Military camos in order, one by one. Once you’ve unlocked all Military camos for your weapon, you unlock the Unique Camo category.

Unique Camos

Two Camos Per Weapon, per game (six per weapon)

These unlock and are accessible in a similar way to how camos are obtained in Modern Warfare® II and Modern Warfare III. These are unique camos you can only earn with the specific weapon you’re using, but once unlocked, these camos can be applied to any other weapon. Unique Camos have unlock criteria that are more tailored to the playstyle of the weapon. Complete both Unique Camos (in either order) and you graduate to unlocking Mastery Camos!

Mastery Camos

Four Camos Per Weapon, per game (12 per weapon)

Featuring some of the showstopping patterns ever seen in a Call of Duty game, the final focus of your camo grind is unlocking the fabled final four Mastery camos! While we can’t reveal the unlock criteria yet, expect specific, and then general challenges incorporating unlocks across your weapon categories, to unveil Mastery camos in all their unrivalled glory!

Multiplayer Mastery Camos:

  • Gold Camo: Complete all Military and Unique Camos for the Weapon and then complete the Gold Camo Challenge.
  • Diamond: Earn Gold Camo for all Weapons in the Weapon Class and then complete the Diamond Camo Challenge.
  • Dark Spine: Earn Diamond Camo for all Weapons in the game and then complete the Dark Spine Camo Challenge.
  • Dark Matter: Earn Dark Spine for all Weapons in the Game and then complete the Dark Matter Camo Challenge.
Zombies Mastery Camos:

  • Mystic Gold Camo: Complete all Military and Unique Camos for the Weapon and then complete the Mystic Gold Camo Challenge.
  • Opal: Earn Mystic Gold Camo for all Weapons in the Weapon Class and then complete the Opal Camo Challenge.
  • Afterlife: Earn Opal Camo for all Weapons in the game and then complete the Afterlife Camo Challenge.
  • Nebula: Earn Afterlife for all Weapons in the Game and then complete the Nebula Camo Challenge.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camos:

  • Gold Tiger Camo: Complete all Military and Unique Camos for the Weapon and then complete the Gold Tiger Camo Challenge.
  • King’s Ransom: Earn Gold Tiger Camo for all Weapons in the Weapon Class and then complete the King’s Ransom Camo Challenge.
  • Catalyst: Earn King’s Ransom Camo for all Weapons in the game and then complete the Catalyst Camo Challenge.
  • Abyss: Earn Catalyst for all Weapons in the Game and then complete the Abyss Camo Challenge.
Remember: You’ve got Military, Unique, and Mastery camos to unlock for each Black Ops 6 weapon in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone!

Reticle Challenges

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

4315cb209bbc4ca1898a90b8a6551bafe907ee3d.jpg

The classic Reticle system has returned! Not only are interchangeable weapon reticles back, but there are robust customization and unlock challenges for them, across all three modes!

Equip an Optic Attachment, and select the Cosmetics Tab in Gunsmith, and access the Reticle category. Here you can view the Reticles you’re currently unlocking, along with the associated Challenges, which are always ADS-related. Like Weapon Camos, Reticle sets are available for:
  • Multiplayer
  • Zombies
  • Call of Duty: Warzone
Unlock a Reticle, and you can fix it to any Optic and any weapon, in any game: For example, if you unlock a Reticle from Zombies, and you prefer its look over all other Reticles, you can equip it in Multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone as you wish.

Calling Cards and Dark Ops Challenges

Global System (SP, MP, RBZ, WZ)

2983e0e5eab14ffd60a9adf83347dd168367c8aa.jpg

Calling Card Challenges: The Black Ops way to unlock Calling Cards is back and bigger than ever! Starting at launch, track your progress from a centralized Calling Cards Menu where every type of Calling Card – across Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone – can be viewed, while also allowing you to see your Calling Cards that are closest to being earned.

There are sets of Calling Cards per mode to unlock, and this menu system also has pages that summarize your progress throughout each set in percentage terms, with the unlock criteria for each Calling Card still readable even after completion. Fans of receiving “100 Percenter” completion animated Calling Cards should be pleased to learn these are also returning, allowing you to prove your dedication and mettle with friends and foes alike. Make sure you add your three favorite Calling Cards to your showcase as part of your Player Profile in the Social menu.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a Black Ops game without Dark Ops Calling Card Challenges! Not seen since Black Ops Cold War, these involve tasks so fiendish, the unlock criteria is [[REDACTED]] until you complete them! These don’t count toward your percentage completion, but they are the ultimate, classified set of Calling Card rewards available!

Emotes and Sprays

Global System (MP, RBZ, WZ)

Adding to the personalization of your Operators are the return of Emotes (a physical taunt or movement) and Sprays (iconography you primarily daub on walls, either to tag them or to tactically flag a location for your teammates).
