Saving Layouts
Custom Seas now provides the ability for creators to save items placed in the world in the form of Layouts, allowing quicker access to custom-built experiences between sessions.
Once items are placed, a Layout can be saved by selecting ‘Save Layout’ from the Game Options and then naming it or overwriting an old Layout.
When starting a custom session, creators can load a Layout by using ‘Open Layout’ from the Command Menu to place the saved items.
Within the Game Options, creators can ‘Reset to Last Loaded Layout’ to return to a previously saved state or ‘Remove Layout’ to quickly remove any placed items.
Each Location can support 30 Layouts, and Layouts can be deleted from the Game Options menu.
New Commands and Quick Commands
Set Time Speed – This command controls how quickly time passes in the world, supporting Stopped, Slow, Normal and Fast world times.
Edit Silver – This command allows Session Owners to manually adjust silver for individual players or crews during a session.
Command Improvements
Spawn Treasures – Players now have access to an ‘Adventures’ category, providing a range of Quest Items and treasures featured in past Sea of Thieves Adventures.
Spawn Treasures – Within Crates and Commodities, creators now have access to a range of Firework Crates stocked with an assortment of fireworks.
Fast Travel has been improved with a new option to send multiple selected players back to their assigned ships in a single action.
New Switches
Display Ships on the Map Table – Ships can now be shown as anonymous markers or fully identified by ship type and crew iconography.
Allow Regain Health – Session Owners can now disable health regeneration, preventing players from recovering health through food and other healing effects. When disabled, players returning from the Ferry of the Damned will return with full health.
Ship Damage – These switches allow creators to control whether different parts of the ship can receive damage during a session, and grant fine-grained control over flooding and fire damage.
Switch Improvements
Custom Ship Supplies – Session Owners can now select ‘None’ when deciding on ship supplies, allowing ships to hold empty Resource Barrels at the start of a session.
Gameplay Improvements
Experiment – Diving to Experiences
During Season 21, all Voyages and Tall Tales will no longer offer the option to ‘Dive To’ from the Quest Table, and crews will be required to sail to their location across the waves.
This is a time-limited live experiment, allowing the team to learn how this change alters the dynamics on the seas. The success or failure of this experiment will inform potential future permanent changes to the experience.
Chest of Fortune
During Season 21, the Chest of Fortune will remain a potential reward for crews conquering a range of emergent World Events. Vanquishing one of these Events can award players one of three loot hauls: a regular loot pile, a lower chance of a regular loot pile with a Chest of Fortune, or a rare chance of a regular loot pile and three Chests of Fortune.
The following emergent World Events will have a chance for the Chest of Fortune to be part of the treasure on completion: Skeleton Forts, Reaper Fortresses, Fort of Fortune, Ashen Winds, Skeleton Fleets, Ghost Fleets, the Burning Blade and the Fort of the Damned.
The Fort of the Damned will have a rare chance for the Chest of Fortune to be present in the Vault on completion, along with a super-rare chance for three Chests to be uncovered.
Removal of World Event Raid Voyages
Following the success of Season 20’s experiment, all on‑demand World Event Raid Voyages have now been permanently removed from the Quest Table.
Previously Raid-unique Trading Company treasures have been redistributed into emergent World Events, while Athena’s Fortune treasures can now be found within the Legend of the Veil.
Any associated Commendations have now been updated to reflect the new unlock criteria.
Tall Tales Emissary Status
Crews representing a Trading Company as an Emissary will find that when sailing on-demand through a portal to the Sea of the Damned, their Emissary status is now lost and will need to be reacquired upon their next arrival on the High Seas. Crews migrating across servers naturally will continue to retain their Emissary status and any earned Emissary Grade progress.
Shrinking Battle Bounds Improvements
The visual treatment of the Seas of Fate found at the edge of Faction Battles has been improved to address scenarios where crews are partially over the boundary. Once a ship crosses the boundary, all players on board will now experience the same consistent visual effect and will no longer find the effect can appear and disappear when moving around.
Last Ship Standing – Spoils for the Victors
Emissary Flags released from bested ships within a battle will no longer sink and can now be retrieved by the victors before they head to the final portal.
Audio Improvements
A range of audio improvements have been made across the game. Players will now hear various new impact effects when striking different materials and creatures, refreshed sound effects when using radial menus, new effects when equipping weapons from the Armoury and a clear audio cue when attempting to restock ammo at a crate while already full.
Improvements have been made to audio levels across various interactions and character voiceovers to balance the audio experience.
Another Season means 50 new levels to climb by raising your Renown, with racks full of rewards to snag along the way – and an optional Premium Tier adding even more!
Season Pass and Premium Tier
Progressing through the 50 levels of Renown in Season 21 will reward players with Doubloon Pouches, playable Voyages and a choice of cosmetic rewards previously available from the Pirate Emporium. Reaching level 50 and completing this Season Pass will reward players with the Star Prize: the Fate's Light Lantern.
Pick up the latest Season Pass: Premium Tier to unlock boosted Renown progression and the ability to earn 1000 Ancient Coins and the Mutiny’s Mark Ship Collection, including Collector’s Figurehead and Sails. Purchase the Premium Tier through the Pirate Log or Pirate Emporium, or via the Pirate Emporium webpage or Steam Item Store!
Season Pass Unclaimed Rewards
When a Season ends, players with any unclaimed rewards from progressing through the Season Pass and Premium Tier will now find those items are claimed automatically.
In the case of Season Pass levels where there are multiple rewards to choose from, an unowned item will be claimed and if a player owns all three items, they will instead be awarded 150 Ancient Coins.
Emissary Ledger Rewards
This Season, the Guild Emissary Ledgers offer the ‘Peaceful Skies’ Painting, ‘Strong Together’ Ornament and Guild of Daring Diversions Title to Guilds who represent them well and perform proudly in the Ledgers.
The Hunter’s Call Emissary Ledger now offers the Living Depths Drum and Concertina, along with the Assailant of Boundless Initiative Title. These new rewards are earnable by Hunters representing the Company as Emissaries.
New Outpost Stock!
The Fisherman’s Fable ship set arrives at the shipwrights this month, celebrating the Legendary Hunter, Merrick. This set includes the Figurehead, Sails, Hull and Flag.
