Head into the mountains of Urzikstan on this mid-sized snow map based around a research outpost and transit facility. Fight over frozen ground or seek shelter in one of the outbuildings. When battling in the center station, hop into the lower cable car for a view over the lower gantry. Several climbing spots offer other ways to get above the enemy. Watch that you don’t overstep at the cliff’s edge; it’s a long drop.

New Modes and Playlist Modifiers

Altered strains of DNA are causing strange (and impressive) deviant evolutions in Mutation Mode. Plus, cause Havoc, aim for the cranium in Headshots Only, and more…

Mutation Mode

84d1843bac0748a1007e1d130fdec3bc6669244b.jpg

As part of the Altered Strain Event, modified DNA strands have infected multiple Operators, and current Multiplayer skirmishes could devolve at any time into Mutation Mode!

Mutation pits one team of humans against a frightening selection of mutants, across a Mosh Pit of familiar game modes. Here’s how the forces stack up:

Humans: One team is comprised of regular Operators. This team is clad in player-chosen skins and carrying the usual loadouts and weapon blueprints. Expect a sizeable increase in your ammunition reserves. You’ll need it!

Mutants: The other team spawns into a match as mutants, but these DNA-altered undead aren’t merely cannon-fodder. Mutants possess a series of unique abilities that can stun, disorient, and eliminate enemy humans, and they’ll have help in the form of non-player controlled Mutants shambling into combat with them.

Once the chaos begins, both teams must defeat the opposing side in a variety of tactical, or grotesque ways. Teams switch sides at halftime; humans become mutants and mutants become humans. The team with the highest score wins.

Humans: Killstreaks

With a swarm of unnatural mutations threatening to overwhelm your team at every turn, you need some serious firepower. Fortunately, you have some specific Killstreaks to acquire at a different rate to normal modes:
  • For every 1 player-controlled Zombie kill, you receive +1 Killstreak point.
  • For every 5 non-player-controlled Zombie kill, you receive +5 Killstreak points.
The three main Killstreaks to focus on are:
  • SAE: 6 points.
  • Remote Turret: 7 points.
  • Juggernaut: 15 points.
Mutant: Special Classes

56646a656cc8195dfcb947ae9f4387e0f0a1c391.jpg

Mutants have no need of Primary and Secondary Weapons, Perks, or Field Upgrades. Instead, they can choose from a variety of special classes, each with a total of three different advantages. Choose your Mutant:
  • Mutated Leaper: Beware a Leaper on the hunt. These lethal mutants can become enraged, gaining faster movement, increased melee damage, and the ability to detect enemies around corners. Toss a Snapshot Grenade to reveal foes to your team and finish the job with a high impact charged leap.
  • Radioactive Beast: Half dog, half demon, the Radioactive Beast charges their enemies, shellshocks opponents while improving the health and move speed of their allies with a howl and can reveal nearby enemies on the minimap for their whole team.
  • Contaminated Sludger: Keep your distance from the Sludger, capable of exploding in a large radius of mutant sludge. Obscure the field with a Smoke Grenade and eject a strong acid blast that deals close-ranged damage and leaves pools of acid that hurt and slow the enemy.
  • Camouflaged Sneaker: The ultimate stealth play mutant. Scramble toward the enemy with an electrified leap and disorient them with an EMP. During critical maneuvers, activate your cloak to become partially invisible for a brief time.
In addition, you may wish to amass multiple human kills, and transform into a particularly powerful radiated abomination known to some as the Mutant Juggernaut….

Altered Strain Event: Augmentations

0f35c6a9b77457ff562fe1735aa78e5f598360fd.jpg

Expect this mode to become increasingly rampageous as the Altered Strain Event commences during the Season. As the Event progresses, expect to unlock augmentations to your Mutant powers:
Progression Augmentation
Description
First Strike
Provides rapid cooldown on first ability used after respawn.
Flop Shot
Diving from elevated surfaces produces a small explosion.
Repocket
Kills with abilities have a chance to replenish your tactical ability.
Attuned
Reduces cost to acquire the Mutant Juggernaut.
Galvanized
Provides temporary damage reduction from explosives.
Other Modes: Havoc, Headshots Only, Blueprint Gunfight

Havoc

f4dc6b49ea88201095ea084e4645b79a5b51e5ce.jpg

Battle under shifting conditions with the return of Havoc, a Core Multiplayer mode inspired by classic arena-shooter gameplay involving wild match modifiers that upend the traditional rules of Team Deathmatch.

The first of five total modifiers activates near the start of the match, with the remaining four modifiers activating when either team reaches the score milestone of 12, 24, 36, and 48 eliminations. The first team to reach 75 points wins the match, and Killstreaks are disabled except for those awarded with a modifier.

With a pool of 14 available modifiers, no two matches of Havoc are the same. The modifiers are as follows:
  • Ammo Feeder: Auto reload after you kill an enemy.
  • Boots off the Ground: Low gravity.
  • Camera Shift: Third-person mode.
  • Chain Reaction: Sticky Grenades launched on kill.
  • Charged Up: Gain Cranked on kills.
  • Equipment Restock: Equipment is refilled on kills.
  • Eyes On: Advanced UAV is always active.
  • Gun Runner: Random gun on kill.
  • Hero Smash: Explosive landing from an elevated position.
  • Hot Shot: Crossbows only, Molotov bolts.
  • Lucky Three: Every three kills gives you a random Killstreak.
  • One Tap: Headshots kill with one bullet.
  • Snapshot Killer: Launch a snapshot grenade (and ping pulse) on kill.
  • System Reroll (Fifth Modifier only): Full reroll of all active modifiers.
Headshots Only

6a9eb1969df728ec6639042b1e93a3ef5b20780e.jpg

Aiming for the head isn’t just a suggestion in this mode, but a requirement. Deploy across a small selection of maps using Team Deathmatch with one caveat: players can only be injured and eliminated through damage to the head. This applies to ranged weapons as well as thrown Lethals like the Throwing Knife or Throwing Star. Grenades are also only effective if they inflict head damage. After a few matches of this mode, you’ll be lasering onto enemy craniums with ease.

Blueprint Gunfight

b1ae87da1ca78cf76d140c8d30e41756f7259e1f.jpg

Add some spice to your Gunfight matches with the mid-season Blueprint Gunfight Playlist, featuring a compact map selection, and Loadouts using a variety of new Weapon Blueprints.

New Playlist Modifier: Bit Party

8696c29c8f7e39d4a6d536b8f54c66d3ead5d533.jpg

Experience Multiplayer like never before with the new Bit Party Playlist modifier, debuting in Season 4 Reloaded. In this Playlist, eliminating enemies inflates your own Operator’s head, with expansion head sizes of small, medium, and large. Get eliminated and your Operator’s head will reset back to small.

While having a larger head makes you an easier target, it also confers objective bonuses! The larger your Operator’s head, the more points you’ll earn for eliminating enemies in Team Deathmatch, picking up tags in Kill Confirmed, and holding the objective in Hardpoint. In Domination, bigger heads capture flags more quickly.

77a7fe8a4bbe2ef0ddcf3ca1f4836c74689e5c04.jpg

Look for the in-game Retro Warfare Event launching alongside Bit Party, along with the pixel-art inspired members of Task Force 141 in the 8-Bit Blitz Bundle, both detailed later in this blog.

The Bit Party Playlist occurs across, and includes a variety of Vortex Variant Multiplayer maps alongside the introduction of Bitvela:

Bitvela (6v6)

New [Variant], Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

11952fb09c059678e731ac25b664b13a5eec1129.jpg

Retro-actively set some time aside to visit a pixel-art inspired version of Favela in the Bit Party Playlist. Thousands of pixels converge in a faithful recreation of this classic map. Vibrant colors, pixelated cars, buildings and trees, jagged clouds, and box-like smoke particles perfectly mimic the original map, without a curved edge in sight.

Das Gross Enters the Vortex Mosh Pit

8169ca23bf0301eab7320e1c31aa31bc69b2cd94.jpg

The Vortex Mosh Pit Playlist returns for a limited time in Season 4 Reloaded. This time, a new hellscape joins the current lineup of Airborne, Satan’s Quarry, Skidgrow, Sporeyard, and Tetanus. Prepare yourself for Das Gross:

Das Gross (6v6)

New [Variant], Core, 6v6, Small-Sized

d779738f2c04ebba905eb8bb5fd3c7622b3921f9.jpg

The downtown buildings in New York City are enveloped by an alien entity, its red tendrils reaching out over every surface. In this horrifying map variant of Das Haus, blood drips from the walls and sharp, pointed teeth protrude from exposed muscle. Above, the night sky conceals a looming planet in the clouds. Focus on the mission at hand and try not to lose your sanity.

Return to the Synthwave Sun: G3T_H1GH3R

G3T_H1GH3R

New [Variant], Playlist, LTE, Medium-Sized

c3840d99fe7f470993bea8f3c98130649d838f57.jpg

Return to the bliss-fueled retro-futuristic utopian voidscape, and gaze upwards at hundreds of newly repositioned floating geometric neon-grids, platforms, and other cosmic bewilderments, leading to the one, true destination; the utopian mind palace itself; a fortress floating beneath the synthwave sun.

d81c8700f24c91385abfed446c991500b9a6daa5.jpg

Stretch out those parkour muscles as the G3T_H1GH3R map is entirely new, with a longer and entertainingly challenging course to ascend, multiple secrets to discover, collectibles to find, and traps more dangerous than you might remember from G3T_H1GH. Blaze a trail to the skies, don’t make a hash of it, and seek the ultimate reward; three new Weapon Camos.

MODERN WARFARE ZOMBIES OVERVIEW [MWZ]

375a4b57b79c58fd8b40f28c3c128a4bbcd3fd84.jpg

  • Face Waves of Enemies in an Unstable Rift. Race to enter Unstable Rift before other squads and face off against increasingly difficult waves of enemies.
Unstable Rift

Prepare for a new wave-based combat challenge arriving in the form of Unstable Rifts. Several opportunities to enter an Unstable Rift can appear per match, and squads must race to be the first to enter; reports of [[REDACTED]] appearing in the Exclusion Zone may hint at the way forward.

efa290f0116b5e8d6c75aa32ddfd3bc2c1408cd0.jpg

Upon entering an Unstable Rift, Operators will face off against increasingly intense waves of enemies until completing the challenge or falling in the attempt. Completing an Unstable Rift resets the cooldown on all of your insured weapons and schematics, so you can head into the next match equipped with your best setup. Strike Team Operators are also encouraged to locate additional Unstable Rifts across the map if you were unable to enter a previous Rift, until Rift infiltration is a success.

Be warned that an Unstable Rift is… unstable. Not everything works as it does elsewhere. Some things are granted, while others are taken away. However, expected loot is impressive, and may include a maxed-out Pack-A-Punch weapon with excellent Rarity value once your Rift exploration begins, as well as an assortment of free Perks and Upgrades that you’ll need when facing the hordes. Good luck!

Detonation at Popov Power Plant (Urzikstan)

d0e71729d92f1e36c578eb9aeb06b7f928d45399.jpg

The DNA Bomb has detonated at the Popov Power Plant, opening new pathways around the point of interest and covering the vicinity in a toxic chemical agent. Exercise caution, though the risk of exposure to the green sludge content much of the vicinity appears to have lessened. You should now focus on getting in close to explore the outcome of this major attack.

fbe46b708f281c092a872be70c986f45e3841806.jpg

It appears the vast power plant has suffered a catastrophic explosion, spilling this chemical agent across a wide area. The gigantic main cooling tower has almost completely collapsed, and the reactor itself has fully ruptured. Exercise extreme caution when investigating this area.

118e5f9c7e87481ab4922b3cde495b14e31c0d18.jpg

The devastation seems to extend to a number of outbuildings which are currently designated no-go areas. Operators within the vicinity with little regard to safety have reported a new, subterranean network of previously-unknown tunnels has now become accessible. Perhaps answers lie hidden down there?

New Limited-Time Modes

Mutation Resurgence Quads and Buy Back Quads

df6a2733da54198699969509cf3010e00eaa9d07.jpg

With normal Resurgence rules, this Mode centers around dropping into the vicinity of the destroyed Popov Power plant. Gain victory by any means necessary, including exposing your Operator to a variety of mutant abilities.

329e5c7fbaeae877f24bc1eaa4bb50cdab8cee19.jpg

Both Mutation Resurgence and Mutation Buy Back Modes removes all Tacticals and Lethals from ground loot, allowing you to focus on gathering and enhancing your Operator’s DNA to discover a multitude of mutations!

Mutation Powers

f5f27c426c13253aa55eb6ef5ea6f16f37abe3e2.jpg

The following seven mutations can affect your Operator as you engage your opponents in any Mutation-based Call of Duty: Warzone match:
  • Bioshield: Creates a protective bubble that blocks incoming damage but allows you to shoot out from within this sphere.
  • Divebomb: Rocket into the air, then dive towards a target. On impact any nearby enemies are damaged and pushed back.
  • Mutant Leap: Perform a charged jump that covers vast distances.
  • Toxic Stim Cloud: Deploy a poisonous cloud that inflicts damage to enemies and boosts your squad mates’ speed for a short duration.
  • Sludge Sling: Toss sludge grenades that explode into a toxic gas cloud on impact. The gas slows and damages enemies over time.
  • Mutant Cloak: Turn partially invisible for a short time. You leave green footprints while cloaked.
  • Mutant Vision: See enemies outlined in red through walls for a short duration.
[Redacted] Weapons

Head into battle with the upper echelon of weaponry through new [Redacted] Weapons found within Loot Hot Zones and Bunkers. These powerful weapons feature more than the traditional five allowed attachments, giving Operators who find them an edge in combat.

Runaway Train Public Event

13f1c44f1b8b4cd27b52350129b35a80ff4b91dc.jpg

This event is currently active in Warzone, prior to Season 4 Relaunch, and continues into the Season. When battling in Urzikstan, each match will have the chance to trigger the Runaway Train Public Event announced around the sixth gas circle. When this occurs, it’s a race for control of the train as the safe zone remains over it until the end of the match. Fight off enemy squads as it careens through the map and achieve victory after taming this mechanical beast!

The chemical catastrophe has resulted in an onrush of zombies in Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile. Battle your enemies — living and undead — in a new game mode supported with updated map features plus new weekly events, mobile original Store offerings, and more.

You can run but you can’t hide from the undead uprising. The horrifying Zombie Royale experience comes to Battle Royale in the mid-season update. Players who are eliminated will return as zombies to hunt down the remaining humans. Zombies can redeploy as a human by collecting antivirals, dropped by fallen human Operators. The last team standing with a living Operator wins the match.

Havoc Resurgence (Rebirth Island, Limited-Time Mode)

Resurgence with a twist. As in traditional Resurgence, players must survive for their teammates to redeploy into the match. All Operators will furthermore receive special Havoc Perks in the match that dramatically alter the gameplay experience such as super speed and random killstreaks every three kills. These perks will activate over time, so the longer you survive the more Havoc Perks, up to an extent, you’ll have to use.

Call of Duty x Fallout: Deploy as a Vault Dweller

A Strange Message…

>>Intercepted Missive to Mr. Jack Cabot from Edward Deeganu>

Missive 4: October 25, 2287.

Parsons State Insane Asylum, Commonwealth.

Mr. Cabot,

To wit: Furthering my updates regarding the possible Vault 141 escapees:

I hope this message finds you well.

I’ve been tracking four military scavs since my Eyebot caught a glimpse of them on the outskirts of Beacon Hill. They’ve ventured all over the place, from Spectacle Island clear across to Fort Hagen.

As you know, I’m always looking for people who know how to handle themselves in dangerous situations. From what I hear, they may fit the bill.

They can certainly handle themselves in a fight. Their leader appears to answer to the name “Price”. Gruff sort. Favors a gauss rifle at longer ranges. Wicked shot. Seen him take out a Mirelurk at 100 paces. Could be the Overseer.

Scarlett over at the Dugout Inn tells me she’s had chats with one of them. Gent called Gaz. Seems to be Price’s right-hand man. Tasty with a pistol. A bit moody.

One of them they call “Ghost,” quiet type with a strange face. Might be a fellow Ghoul. Shorter chap as well; Scottish fellow. Wonder how a Mole Rat like him passed selection?

From my tracking, and I can’t be sure of this of course, but it appears this squad hails from one of those remote islands off the coast, near the old Boston Light. I haven’t pinpointed the exact entrance, and mapping is a chore as the Pip-Boy is playing up again, but Vault 141 seems to be under the ancient Gun Emplacement east of here, in the Atlantic.

I know you have misgivings given that they’re all British, but they’re more rough-and-tumble, salt of the earth types. Plus, they’re stacked to the gills with armaments.

Shall we organize a meet and greet?

Your faithful servant,

Edward.

One can only imagine the reputation he earned in combat, that eventually led to him being selected to join the CIA's Special Activities Division.

Woods is fond of pointing out that you can't kill him. To date, though many have tried - no one has been able to prove him wrong.

Now you can instantly unlock the Woods Operator Pack by pre-ordering or pre-purchasing any Digital or Vault Edition of Black Ops 6.
  • Instantly receive the “Classic Woods” Skin. This Skin can be used immediately in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® III and Call of Duty: Warzone™.

Hunters vs. Hunted Operator Pack (Vault Edition Benefit)

72d846e52e2d25b1a45c919d803ecc3e0f3301d9.jpg

Available: Open Beta (BO6), Game Launch (BO6), Vault Edition Upgrade

Purchase or upgrade to the Vault Edition, and four infamous Operators from the Black Ops and Zombies universes are yours to own, each clad in their own impressive (and animated) Operator Skin.

Rogue Black Ops Operator Skins

Operator Park (“Oblivion” Skin):
Exiting Oxford University to study para-military organizations, MI6 operative Helen Park is a methodical, ad hoc Black Ops team member. Now fully recovered from wounds sustained in an RPG attack, during a redacted operation in Havana, she is fit for duty and ready to rejoin the squad.

Operator Adler (“Umbra” Skin): Russell Adler was once the leader of a covert Strike team of CIA Operatives and was dubbed 'America's Monster.' Neither his current intentions, or whereabouts, are known.

Zombies Operator Skins

Operator Brutus (“Warden of Alcatraz” Skin):
Last encountered in Black Ops 4’s Blood of the Dead, the Warden of Alcatraz is reborn again as a Black Ops 6 Operator. Reanimated by otherworldly forces, this custodian of Hell's most evil inmates will not - and cannot - rest until his charges have been safely returned to their cells. With electricity arcing across his heavily armored bulk, his hunt begins...

Operator Klaus (“Reborn” Skin): Elizabeth Grey's automaton will assure you that it is just there to help, but there is something deeply unsettling in its bearing. It could be the number of prior murderous killing sprees, masked by its enthusiasm - or simply that it seems unable to grasp exactly how fragile humans can be. Expect Klaus to be switched on at launch.

Vault Edition owners can expect to use any of these Operator Skins during the Black Ops 6 Open Beta, later this year.

Mastercraft Weapon Collection (Vault Edition Benefit)

0c491c2453b4270cff9dbf9253955abb71b3d2c4.jpg

GobbleGum Pack (Vault Edition Benefit)

Carry Forward Content and Black Ops 6

We want to make sure that everybody starts fresh, together, as we move into an all-new experience with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Allowing everyone to experience the Black Ops universe the way it’s meant to be played, learning the era-specific weapons and gear, learning the gameplay innovations like Omnimovement, and keeping that signature Black Ops style is important.

Therefore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III content will not carry forward to the Black Ops 6 Premium experience.

The one exception is the Woods Operator Pack since it is currently now available in Modern Warfare III, so it will continue forward into Black Ops 6.

Carry Forward content for players of Call of Duty: Warzone will continue, with Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, and Black Ops 6 content being integrated with the arrival of Season 1.

Black Ops 6 Reveal: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies

Forced to Go Rogue. Hunted from Within.

Welcome to Black Ops 6, releasing worldwide on Friday, October 25.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

youtube_16x9_placeholder.gif

Initial Intel: Campaign: The Black Ops 6 Campaign takes players to a new point in time – the early 1990s. In true Black Ops fashion, the fictional story builds on the history of the time, thrusting you into a strange and clandestine conspiracy where a shadowy force has infiltrated the U.S. government. Anyone who resists is branded as a traitor, forcing players to go rogue for the first time to fight the very machine that created them. Nothing is what it seems, and the truth may be hard to fathom, drawing you ever deeper into intrigue, distrust, and mind-bending psychological revelations. This is true, signature Black Ops style.

Initial Intel: Multiplayer: Offering a massive amount of content at launch, expect 16 brand new Multiplayer maps on Day One, including 12 Core 6v6 maps and four small-sized Strike maps, the latter of which are unique, stand-alone locations designed to be played in 2v2 or 6v6 matches. Multiplayer is also where you’ll test your skills and learn how to move like an action hero, with innovations like Omnimovement – allowing you to sprint, slide and dive in any direction – as well as Intelligent Movement (sprinting, mantling, and crouch assists allowing you to focus on achieving incredible and complex maneuvers with ease), increased enemy hit zones, an incredible lineup of gear, HUD optimizations, and the return of Theater Mode and Classic Prestige!

All designed to ensure this game is the ultimate Black Ops Multiplayer experience.

Initial Intel: Round-Based Zombies: Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead. Expect two brand-new maps at launch, and an impressive number of secrets to discover.

Campaign: Detailed Briefing

d09b445dbfb869681b556210cdf6f2e5477de43a.jpg

Development on the Black Ops 6 Campaign is led by Raven Software, in partnership with Treyarch. Following the events of Black Ops Cold War, expect a dynamic and intense spy thriller, a mind-bending story where you’re never sure who to trust, and what is real, all set against the backdrop of the early 1990s. With the Campaign taking place in the years after the Cold War, longtime fans will recognize that this timeframe is directly connected to the 1980s flashbacks revealed during Black Ops 2 – the aftermath of which has left our heroes in dire circumstances.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign takes place at a time of great change and turmoil. The Soviet Union was crumbling after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. The US was the only remaining Superpower. The Gulf War dominated headlines. There was a growing mistrust in government – reflected everywhere across the music, television, and pop culture of the time.

A tangled web of illicit activities, clandestine operations, and off-the-record missions, all part of a gripping narrative where you never quite know who to trust. This is the return of Black Ops.

Rogue Elements: Campaign Characters

47554d391dcdf0cf6d16d4714e6217b39a06f88b.jpg

Black Ops 6 blends the rich and gritty history of previous Black Ops titles with both returning and bold new characters – and veteran Frank Woods acts as the through-line in our story. Across the Campaign, we see a different side of Woods following his traumatic injury at the hands of Raul Menendez. He’s been pulled from the field, and you’ll interact with him as he adjusts to a new role within the CIA.

014946bd9e1f626eac99a76c0f5159083265968b.jpg

His protege is Troy Marshall, who has been making a name for himself in the field. Marshall is a methodical leader, driven by a strong moral compass. With a single-minded focus in overcoming adversity and a stubborn streak that can sometimes border on recklessness, it isn’t surprising that Woods and Marshall share common ground. Both men are working with another new face in Black Ops 6, CIA handler, Jane Harrow. She is a born leader, fearless and brilliant, and helps manage their relationships within the agency.

Woods’ ability to operate in the shadows has always been hugely valuable to the CIA – whether they want to admit it or not. Meanwhile, Marshall can make tough calls in the field, as Harrow trusts him implicitly. However, when an operation goes wrong, Woods and Marshall are suspended and ultimately forced to go rogue….

eb38078a09b36eb709ddcb6f358d528e6b75c88e.jpg

They soon realize they must trust each other to get to the bottom of what’s going on, and this must be done without any of their usual resources. They must build their own team of rogue agents, recruiting two intriguing new characters in Felix Neumann, a technical genius, and Sevati Dumas, a mysterious assassin.

e21ce01e53bdf9368713b278d35aa8d6ba2d6040.jpg

With a mixture of new and familiar faces, a legendary wildcard also returns to the fight – the infamous Russell Adler is back! While his allegiances and motivations remain unclear, this former ally may have become a new and daunting enemy.

Areas of Operations and Encounters

b68411c2e109772941c647c5dff3e85bb2902904.jpg

Mission variety is a key component in the twisted, covert world of Black Ops 6. Raven Software has created individual missions from the ground up, with each one also offering diverse methods in the way you approach and execute them.

a3e3e2d2cdebee1eefe65f2c5b271f6e6ba560b3.jpg

For example, one mission involves you infiltrating an old sewer system underneath an opulent casino in southern Europe, and these catacombs are one of many locations that are more ideal for stealth, where only the muffled yells or crumpled falls of the enemy can be heard, before you tactically reposition topside to pull off an audacious heist in the casino itself. Other areas are more appropriate for large-scale battles, such as a full-force assault on a palace in the Iraqi desert.

Within every mission, the Black Ops 6 Campaign focuses on the methods you can employ to achieve victory as well as replayability, giving you the freedom to navigate through them as you see fit. This naturally extends to combat, but even affects the conversations you have, as operatives talk, barter, and manipulate their way into a variety of different outcomes, some drastically different and dependent on the choices you previously made.

These outcomes can also change depending on how you utilize and interact with the abundance of environmental obstacles. Black Ops 6 leans into the time period with era-specific interactions and equipment, from lock-picking and computer hacking to keypad code-solving and other puzzles to ponder.

f7ca10257ec36ac96dda2a6399722561a29c5314.jpg

This extends to the impressive collection of gadgets from the early 1990s, along with the Campaign-specific tactical and lethal equipment you can choose, always with the option to ramp up (or de-escalate) the action. Expect several brand-new items as well as some returning favorites from the Black Ops universe: the classic RC-XD (Remote-Controlled Explosive Device) is back, for when you need to cause an isolated explosion from a miniature four-wheeler. Or perhaps you want to drop a Tranquilizer Trap that chokes a foe out when they step near it. Then there’s the Adrenaline Stim for unexpectedly brutal takedown encounters. Drop an enemy with more than just an expert throw thanks to the Homing Knife. Or paralyze them in arcs of electrical discharge after lobbing in the Disruptor weapon.

These few examples give you an initial understanding of the depth of gameplay the Campaign offers. But where does the Rogue Black Ops team go to ground, between these missions?

Welcome to the Manor

e51dee956d332f06fb51f2533be5828bb7a4b252.jpg

Your central base of operations between each Campaign mission is a remote and rambling manor house perched atop a granite cliff, overlooking a brooding, choppy ocean. This impressive edifice offers more exploration and character development opportunities than the Berlin Safehouse where you met during Black Ops Cold War. Intriguingly, the Safehouse itself has a secret history; it formerly served as a KGB Black Site which was operational during the 1950s and 60s, vacated some 30 years prior to your team’s arrival.

e8055d4fc9cf02483e8326df95e81c68d039dae2.jpg

As the wind and waves batter against the stone walls of this stately mansion, you and your clandestine team have the run of the place. Step into the gardens for a spot of target practice, uncover secrets hidden in some of the mothballed rooms, and ensure you receive a briefing from the ever-acerbic Master Sergeant Frank Woods, who resides here after receiving serious injuries in the field.

5bb04a6ef3cbebe1a4a22a25e396c5c9a0e6c755.jpg

After mansion explorations are complete, you’ll usually head toward the Evidence Board – last seen in Black Ops Cold War – now upgraded with additional intel and mission briefings integral to the Safehouse. Here players can view the Campaign Outline, gain deeper insights into missions, and analyze evidence collected throughout past operations. It’s at the Evidence Board where the tactical planning occurs, as you piece together the puzzles within the storyline, before deciding on your best course of action.

Multiplayer and More: Detailed Briefing

e5eafd71a36e8d82d8e5b32b4ab17b3722e2b1ca.jpg

Multiplayer is a key ingredient in the DNA of Black Ops, and the frenetic, action-hero style of play is central to the series. For Black Ops 6, every single part of the Multiplayer gameplay experience has been innovated upon, from movement to weapon firing, footsteps, progression systems, takedowns, and more.

Across our weapons, gear, Operators, maps and every other aspect of the game, a huge push has been to hit the highest visual and audio fidelity possible to allow full immersion.

Many of these features also span across the entire content offering – Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies – and one of the biggest innovations is Omnimovement, where long-established FPS constructs have been removed, allowing you to maneuver much more realistically, and unlocking a level of fluidity and fun that has never been reached before in a Black Ops game.

Omnimovement

e777007b6a203ea4fe67a169404f69ea433c2d05.jpg

With Black Ops 6, Treyarch is redefining movement across the entire game. That all starts with an entirely new global system called Omnimovement.

For the first time ever, players can sprint, slide, and dive in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling) and move like a true Black Ops action hero. This innovation immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving and a newly enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion.

During development, Treyarch asked “What if you could sprint in any direction?”

If you can sprint in any direction, then it logically follows that you can slide and dive in any direction, too. This opened a world of new movement options. With a simple – and extremely engaging – prototype up and running, the team instantly knew this was much more than a modest improvement to the way you maneuver your Operator in combat:

This has been something that changes how you think and play the game.

With Omnimovement – and core player movement in general – it’s not just about making the player move faster, or tweaking how long it takes before you can slide cancel. This is a holistic approach to redefine what Black Ops 6 movement really means.

Intelligent Movement

1d499bbab34b9b991b2792fea5ce62c120ff81aa.jpg

Omnimovement isn’t the only movement innovation coming to Black Ops 6. There’s a new set of features known as Intelligent Movement, which is designed to drastically reduce how many buttons or keys you’re pressing to perform various movements.

The spark of the idea behind Intelligent Movement was wanting players to focus on what they wanted to achieve with movement, rather than how to achieve it. Every player, regardless of skill level, input, or experience with Call of Duty, can engage in Omnimovement and become an action hero in Black Ops 6. There are three categories that you can enable (or disable) in the Player Options:
  • Sprint Assist
  • Mantle Assist
  • Crouch Assist
Designed with both Omnimovement and player expression in mind, you also have the freedom to fine-tune these settings depending on your style of play.

5f0f5d66c9ca3caf1f860f12e81db67ad5ed7494.jpg

However, we are mindful that Intelligent Movement may not be for everyone or for every in-game circumstance. Fortunately, with a robust and purely optional set of setting menus, players can decide whether to use these innovations and play around with combinations of actions to enable or disable a related command for, to make it your own experience.

Enemy Hit Zones

71dd841c9b786e7faab515884b5ccadc9498fba8.jpg

In past Black Ops games, when you eliminated an enemy, they reacted to taking damage based on the Hit Zone you struck them in, and depending on where that was, you observed an animation based on both the location of the shot, and the deadliness of the damage. With the launch of Black Ops 6, the number of Hit Zone regions has more than doubled, from four to nine.

With more than twice the number of regions to target, you can expect a much wider variety of visual takedowns across Campaign and Multiplayer modes. Now it can be determined, for example, if an enemy was shot in the left or right leg and play a bespoke death animation related to the shot. Or, if an Operator takes a high caliber sniper round to the right arm as they’re sprinting, that appendage will snap back and spin them around as the weight of the body carries forward as they collapse to the ground.

World Connectivity

0b39c831a0ecb190f8852ef4af39f5499803b035.jpg

Another innovation is World Connectivity, a much more subtle but recognizable set of animation overhauls based on the concept that the player’s movement and reactions are connected to the in-game world in a dynamic way and based on the player’s choices.

This is related to the overarching idea of keeping the player in a “flow state,” minimizing the jarring between different animations, for example. Take this a step further, and you have an example feature known as Corner Slicing. As you round a corner or go through a doorway, your weapon dynamically rotates in that same direction. Since this is dynamic, the rotation becomes more dramatic if you’re slowly sneaking through, clearing a room, whereas it won’t affect you at all if you’re barreling full speed around that same corner. This doesn’t affect gameplay as it’s purely a visual adjustment, but when real-world Operators were observed clearing a building, they always moved with anticipation of that next firefight.

Operators

b228d5f113729373e3466d32bcf67be7c82b5495.jpg

Visual fidelity – including the smallest of details on each character – goes next level with Black Ops 6. Through the process of photogrammetry, authentic gear was acquired, scanned, and incorporated onto each of our operatives. This brings every subtle nuance and life that each piece is legitimate.

Each Operator’s face features dynamic real-time analysis of scripted as well as spontaneous performances that were captured and processed to make moments more emotional impactful, and expressions that are true to life. The development teams have paid attention to every single detail, down to the dirt between a player’s fingernails and the sweat and oil on their palms as they work through various settings and situations.

Gear Up: Equipping Your Operator

fbefd7befecc0ace2f0022fa779bcfa563b22ccf.jpg

Expect Black Ops 6 to deliver an incredible lineup of weapons. There are some familiar arms, with a real emphasis on the gritty world of clandestine operations in the 1990s, while also including many that are new to the franchise. The team took a “tool for every job” approach, with a wide variety of weapons and gear. As the characters who employ this armory usually operate outside of the normal playbook and procure gear by any means necessary, the weapons team leaned into this plan, resulting in an amalgamation of armaments from the military as well as armaments more extemporaneous in nature.

This continues into the Gear selection as well. You’re able to choose a variety of off-the-shelf military issue equipment to field fabricated and makeshift gadgets, all intended to continue that unique signature Black Ops feel and immersion into this world.

Graphics and Visual Effects

9af0fb00f6728f14d420df59cd466845535a5114.jpg

Visually, Black Ops 6 strikes a balance between a “real” and “hyper-real” look, the latter of which is recognizable from anyone watching a high-octane action movie. Visual effects were created to be an inherently unmistakable phenomenon, and Treyarch gathered masses of real-world references so that the overall visual behavior – wind influence, gravity, weight, scale, et al – felt natural.

Heads Up Display Optimization

a66afc9bfb6c8d0cfd1fa875d6aca6aaefb550b1.jpg

For Black Ops 6, the player experience is all about focusing you on what you need, when you need it. Advancements in HUD (Heads Up Display) design echoes this mantra, with a variety of changes you can make based on established presets. From the minimap, to the ammo widget, to in game notifications, the Black Ops 6 HUD combines exceptional designs in a clean, streamlined experience. As always, the Multiplayer medal acquirement notifications hit hard and the scorefeed makes eliminations even more gratifying, along with plenty of new innovations.

For the first time in a Black Ops game, players will be able to change their HUD in dramatic ways to suit their needs. For example, you may want your HUD centered so you don’t have to look at the corners of your screen as often. Perhaps you plan to play Hardcore mode anywhere and want all the HUD elements removed accordingly. Has the mini-map been in the top-left corner of your screen for far too long? Then move it! Streamers have a layout optimized for their setup. These are all options, and everything connects you to the in-game world, from the Lobby, into combat, and back again, where your player progress and achievements are celebrated in a big way.

Optimizations also extend to the Lobby. Accessing the Lobby will become more straightforward, and the time it takes to go from hitting the Lobby to a match will be shortened, and this streamlining continues between matches.

This is all part of the “time to engagement” vision that has remained unchanged throughout the game's development process; to craft an approachable and engaging step-change of the signature Black Ops Multiplayer experience.

Multiplayer Maps: Initial Intel

cce1e8b2e827a702ba09cc9a25ac19469ced4caa.jpg

We are excited to announce there will be 16 all new Multiplayer maps at launch, including 12 Core 6v6 maps, and four entirely new Strike Maps that can be played 2v2 or in Face Off 6v6. “Strike Maps” are generally more compact and offer constant chaos.

a3e83279f4f680db4aa3b3c8b178e8c23294d8e9.jpg

Many feature innovations on the classic three lane map design, with quick time to engagement, sized in the small to medium-sized range for the right amount of complexity for meaningful player choice, and to keep the action flowing and the pacing optimal. Maps intentionally support gameplay diversity, as supporting different playstyles is the foundation of how the studio builds these maps, even up to professional levels of Ranked play.

389dac895051c87c0cadf278d51dd67616fad4df.jpg

Multiplayer maps each have their own story and all take place after the Campaign, so players will be able to further explore maps with a Multiplayer lens after they’ve played through.

The Rank Up Report: Classic Prestige and Theater Mode

95c86c46fda3e11356c64e83fced9c7df9aa9b76.jpg

Early on in Black Ops 6’s development, a goal was set to ensure leveling and XP mattered more than ever, resulting in a deep and rewarding progression journey for players, starting at launch. Current and past Progression systems throughout Call of Duty’s history were studied, and within the Black Ops series, there was a particular fondness – both across the community and internally at Treyarch – for a more classic Prestige system.

Black Ops 6 will mark the return of traditional Call of Duty Prestige.

The team is bringing back the very best parts from past Call of Duty Prestige integrations and are going bigger and better with more rewards than ever before, along with some new surprises you may not be expecting. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

2401ee68f6d1a6d358079281b9b720f46ec84423.jpg

Players can look forward to experiencing some classic, recognizable aspects of Prestige once you reach your maximum player level. At this point, you have the optional choice to enter Prestige. This essentially starts your ranking up afresh, relocking the gear you grinded through from levels 1-55, enabling you to go through the leveling journey again.

Black Ops 6 will have 10 of these Prestiges, each with a valuable set of rewards to earn and equip to showcase your impressive in-game status. But you aren’t done yet, as those completing Prestige 10 will graduate into Prestige Master, with 1,000 additional levels to climb through, and a classified reward to uncover if you’re dedicated enough to make it all the way to the end.

The full Prestige system is available at launch in Black Ops 6 so players can play at their own pace without ever being slowed down by seasonal level caps.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Black Ops game if you couldn’t relive all the action in Theater Mode, which we’re happy to announce is also returning with Black Ops 6.

Zombies: Initial Briefing

d275df60a13972f95d53377612d8a3c3609f9877.jpg

Zombies.

Round-Based Zombies is back! Black Ops 6 will launch with two brand-new Round-Based Zombie maps – Terminus and Liberty Falls – and a continuation of the intriguing and terrifying Dark Aether narrative that was started in Black Ops Cold War. Hordes of the undead are set to rampage through these brand-new locations, each offering countless hours of fast-paced action where power-ups are plentiful, but you’re never more than a few seconds away from being overwhelmed and devoured!

For newcomers, Zombies is Treyarch’s unique take on a cooperative player experience where you face off against vast mobs of zombified creatures, with the bulk being the recently deceased, now animated due to strange, eldritch forces. Expect every location you visit to be packed with powerful weapons, new and returning power-ups, a pantheon of revolting entities to face, and a host of secrets and easter eggs to discover.

Remember too, that many of the previously revealed innovations in movement, visual fidelity, audio, and weapons will all be coming to Zombies as well. That’s not including the many additional Zombies-specific features, both new and returning. Expect more information to come in the following weeks.

Something’s wrong with Soap. The elite Operator’s eyes glow red over a deeply scarred face emitting blue flames over the head. The sleeves of his uniform are pushed up, revealing forearms of an unnatural hue. Of all the infected Operators this season, this one rules them all.

BlackCell Additional Skin: Soap’s mask is up in the BlackCell version, yellow flames rising from his head. The veins in his forearms glow and he’s swapped the gray digital camo pattern for black with gold accents.

Multiplayer Maps: Three Brand New Core 6v6 Maps

37b43be272848666dec0d997125911283ecdf0e3.jpg

Continuing the promise to deliver “over 12 all-new Core 6v6 Maps in our seasons,” Season 4 features three brand new maps offering diverse combat areas, as well as a Das Haus Vortex variant that’s certain to Gross you out….

Tokyo (Launch)

Brand-New, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

77ecf775dc8ca08ca0621b903f6bca7d254be5b8.jpg

Experience Tokyo nightlife in this mid-sized Multiplayer map featuring late night shopping, entertainment, and accommodations for the weary traveler. Battle for the map’s major power positions, the Hotel and Manga buildings facing one another over the main road. Except for these two locations, the fight stays on ground level.

Close-ranged Loadouts excel in the Arcade and Center Courtyard along the top of the map where kiosks and a sitting area obstruct views across the lane. Areas like the Hotel and Metro Station make for strong defensive points when battling on the far ends of the map. Use them to withstand enemy attacks until it’s safe to move forward again.

Paris (Launch)

Brand-New, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

324cc5a6dbcb33cff4aaa73f43b0980c170fa701.jpg

Head to the City of Lights for a rendezvous with the enemy, fighting across this mid-sized map dominated by the central Police Station and Gallery. Navigate the surrounding streets to remain on ground level or take the battle to either of the two main buildings. Don’t underestimate the map’s smaller interior spaces, the Bookstore and Shop. These areas provide overhead cover in a pinch and are generally less conspicuous than the large center buildings.

Fight around an L-shaped cubicle in the Police Station’s main office or swing through the cell block and lobby. The Gallery presents a tighter layout with exhibits branching off into separate hallways. There has been some kind of break in, marked by a blast in the Police Station wall by the cell block and another leading into the Gallery. Ambulances and police cars provide much needed cover when moving on the roads.

Incline (Mid-Season)

Brand-New, Core, 6v6, Medium Sized

e243b1016e2675caa68f2eb7b9efef7cc07f37a4.jpg

Deploy to an isolated research outpost in the mountains of Urzikstan on this mid-sized snow map based in and around the main transport facility. Climb up on the red container or the low roof along the top path to get over your enemies and use objects places around the main facility to climb up into the building.

Access the funicular’s lower carriage for a vantage point over the bottom lane. Be careful not to slip down the mountainside when exiting the carriage. Generally, mid-ranged Loadouts will perform best along the outer perimeter while close-ranged weapons reign in the interior locations (the main facility plus the smaller buildings near each starting spawn).

Das Gross (Mid-Season)

New (Variant), Core, 6v6, Small-Sized

c222b050abd715b405d033907c5a2b6085933ebf.jpg

An ominous orange mist hangs in the air. Revolting preternatural tendrils and flapping tentacles have enveloped the high-rise construction site formerly known as Das Haus, snaking into every corner and transforming it into a nightmarish alien madness. Look for Das Gross to be added to the Vortex map Playlist.

Multiplayer Modes: Demolish, Cause Havoc, Get Cranked

c2eb3303a25ae9362ee337aafc1834da378b092e.jpg

There’s not only DNA Bombs to worry about this Season, as Demolition is finally back, with more defusing opportunities than ever before! Adding to this is a Cranked variation, the arena-shooter inspired Havoc, and a Killstreak-focused Playlist modifier, all coming before the explosive mid-season update and even more Modes.

Game Mode: Demolition (Launch)

e1840a52727370f4019196a626980a8f752e2bd6.jpg

One of the finest tactical game modes in Call of Duty is finally back! Appearing for the first time since Season 3 of Modern Warfare (2019) this round-based objective mode has similarities to Search & Destroy, with teams alternating between attacking and defending two bomb sites. However, unlike S&D, respawns are enabled and attacking players always spawn with a bomb, and defuses – ninja or otherwise – don’t end the round. This leads to highly tactical engagements – and pandemonium – as teams converge on bomb sites and pressure the opposition.

Win a round of Demolition as the attacking team by destroying both bomb sites before the timer ends. Take out one of the sites, and you add extra time to the game clock, allowing you to concentrate on the second bomb location. Win a round as the defending team by protecting one or both bomb sites until the timer ends. If a bomb is planted, the match timer pauses, and running out the timer is also an option, though defusing the bomb is of paramount importance.

Game Mode: Hyper Cranked (Launch)

13b1e424abf34db779c04b0ad0712fdc0b7a8860.jpg

This twisted spin on traditional Team Deathmatch gets even more frantic with this “Hyper” variant. For the uninitiated, Cranked pressures you into chaining kills, eliminating enemy opponents as often as you wish, but within a specific amount of time before a countdown reaches zero, or you’ll explode. Expect a faster reload, weapon swap, and quicker movement speed after your first kill. Points are awarded for every kill, meaning getting kills, staying alive longer, earning more points, and finally claiming victory with your team is the plan in Cranked.

How does Hyper Cranked up the stakes even more? Simple; you spawn into a match already Cranked, with the countdown running! Chain kills, stay alive, and don’t dawdle!

Game Mode: Havoc (Mid-Season)

41b4f6d899d82ceb27cf3c2cb15c87df3f87eba4.jpg

Eliminate the enemy while experiencing changing gameplay modifiers throughout the match.

Last seen in Season 5 of Modern Warfare II (2022), Havoc is a Core Multiplayer mode inspired by classic arena-shooter gameplay, with additional enhancements courtesy of a random selection of chaos-inducing modifiers. Expect gameplay to be consistently entertaining, fast-paced, and never the same.

The action begins with the Team Deathmatch ruleset in effect, with the first team to reach 75 points awarded the win. However, Killstreaks (except those awarded with a modifier) are disabled, and a variety of match-changing modifiers come into play!

Once the action starts, you’ll notice a series of five circular icons under your map compass, at the top of the screen. These indicate the modifiers currently in play. After a two and a half-second countdown, your first modifier is awarded. Then, once either team has reached a score multiplier of 12 kills (12, 24, 36 and 48), another new modifier is added to the match, affecting both teams immediately, from the following modifier pool:
  • Ammo Feeder: Auto reload after you kill an enemy.
  • Boots off the Ground: Low gravity.
  • Camera Shift: Third-person mode.
  • Chain Reaction: Sticky Grenades launched on kill.
  • Charged Up: Gain Cranked on kills
Game Mode: Headshots Only (Mid-Season)

986ddcc8c58d42fa79c0855eefbfb74440b9382a.jpg

Lock the target, aim at the cranium, and fire.

This team mode, played on a small moshpit of maps, is for skilled players that can demonstrate impressive aim. Using Team Deathmatch rules, augmented by the fact that only headshots count when eliminating other players; no damage is dealt, and no team score progression is possible unless your cranium-aiming is true.

With only one place to aim at, loadouts become of prime importance, and there are no limits on the weapons, Perks, Equipment, or Killstreaks you can take with you. Note that thrown Lethals like Knives or Stars can only deal damage if they strike the head, grenades are only effective if they damage the head, and you may want to leave Melee weapons back at the Lobby.

Playlist Modifiers: All Game Modes (Launch, In-Season)

a764bae2335e1d7ef7ff5ddb1febda6017522d2e.jpg

Look for Playlist updates that indicate the presence of certain gameplay modifiers, like the Minefield Mode in Season 3. Expect some playlists to have active Killstreak, or Event-based modifiers which may include one or more of the following. These will apply to any Multiplayer Mode you are currently playing within the Playlist:

Looping Killstreaks: Streaks reset fully once you reach the upper end of your current streaks, allowing you to earn unlimited streaks in one life.

Earning Killstreaks: You receive points added to your streak if you slay an enemy player with your Killstreak, or Assist in killing a player with your Killstreak.

Killstreak Cache: When a player is eliminated, they drop a cache containing a percentage of their earned Killstreak progress. Grab the cache and add it to your own progress!

Critical Countdown Event Items: During the forthcoming Critical Countdown Event, expect enemies to drop [[REDACTED]] in-game items that can be collected to more quickly progress the Event.

Game Modes: Additional Content (In-Season, Mid-Season)

1167946d65e6c251e8d25aa87614842891540332.jpg

With the arrival of Das Gross, expect another Vortex Mosh Pit, and other as-yet to be unveiled content that will have you in bits. Plus, summon your best buds as the Synthwave Sunset makes another limited-time appearance with the revamped return of G3T_H1GH. Finally, expect Mutation Mode to fully embrace the forthcoming Countdown Event in a variety of surprising ways….

The tremendous explosion can be triggered providing you’ve acquired enough consecutive kills without dying. Once you’re granted the DNA Bomb you can detonate it, eliminating all players on the opposing team. Unlike the MGB, the DNA Bomb does not conclude the match.

Unstable Rift (Mid-Season)

Join other members of Operation: Deadbolt during Season 4 Reloaded to investigate numerous and violent anomalies lurking within what Sergei Ravenov has termed an “Unstable Rift.” Deploy to the Exclusion Zone, and undertake a focused race and challenge to access the entrance into an Unstable Rift. Time is of the essence, as only the first squad to reach a Rift and vote to enter it will be transported into it. Thankfully, several entrances to the Unstable Rift can appear per match.

6382cfad5d0797f23a7ed6aacb757c2dd550bda9.jpg

This allows you to return to an undisclosed portion of a Rift you may have previously visited. However, on this occasion, a large horde of zombies and other grotesque horrors attempt to assault you almost immediately, and intense waves of enemies continuously swarm you until the hordes are slain, or your team is overwhelmed.

Clearing an Unstable Rift of its nightmarish denizens does offer benefits; all weapon and schematic cooldowns are immediately wiped and refreshed if you succeed, and if you’re a glutton for havoc, you can repeat this activity as many times as your squad can successfully enter an Unstable Rift.

a25e6fa7d8cc54ba47eda7b39df22370b73019fc.jpg

Combat across Urzikstan, Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep and Vondel continues, and though no major points of interest appear to have changed, the discovery of a mysterious DNA Bomb at Popov Power leaves you and your squad little time to discover incoming threats.

This truth may not be immediately obvious, but as the season progresses, additional discoveries may cause a significant shift in your plans….

Urzikstan Bunker Update (Launch, In-Season)

fa0dc1997e13312a00038c03f41e1bf90fea5f4c.jpg

Increased activity across Urzikstan seems to be focused on the Bunkers dotted across the warzone. After keycard access is obtained, an expanded interior may be accessible, along with high-level loot and additional intel regarding the location of [[REDACTED]]. Secondary Bunker exit hatches are likely to be active, allowing your squad multiple methods of escape. However, not all Bunkers appear to be accessible. Further investigation, and great care, is needed to solve this conundrum.

Urzikstan Gulag Update (Launch)

c045309c2436bdecb078ccfb63135da0f9ff70c5.jpg

Additional Gulag silos have opened up during Urzikstan Battle Royale matches, and recon teams have confirmed four different variants. Expect to randomly drop into one of them, offering you new ways to approach your 1v1 duel for redeployment.

Gulag “2”: A three-panel curved wall, stacked equipment against two walled sections, and two curved inner walls above the circular floor grate.

Call of Duty: Warzone Modes and Public Events

Returning Mode: Buy Back Royale Solos (Urzikstan, Launch)

03a4ce7eff371311af1c6b1cc2d0b42f20460568.jpg

Money is life. Earn enough Cash to redeploy automatically. Last team standing wins.

Being down doesn’t mean being out, providing you’ve got the Cash for a revive. Following the regular Battle Royale rules, this Urzikstan-only mode disables the Gulag, and instead allows you to return to a match after dying, along with a removal of some of your collected Cash reserves. Multiple redeployments are available until the final moments of a match (around the same time the Gulag closes in regular Battle Royale), allowing for a more risky, aggressive strategy and higher eliminations if you’ve the funds for it.

Additional Modes (In-Season)

SpecGru and KorTac Operators across multiple infil zones should expect additional [[REDACTED]] and a number of [[REDACTED]] modes as the Season progresses. Exercise extreme caution as you investigate [[REDACTED]], one step closer to the truth.

New Vehicle: Polaris RZR (Urzikstan, Launch)

e521e4ad37ca9ca186a31075d0d964f0b307816c.jpg

The ultimate combination of power, strength, and control has arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone! The Polaris RZR Pro R, a real-world side-by-side UTV offering immediate acceleration, nimble handling, and rugged durability is available as a Land Vehicle within Urzikstan. Appearing as “Polaris RZR” on your Tac-Map, this side-by-side differs from the current in-game UTV as it offers a tighter turning circle and handling, three seats and improved fuel economy. Currently available in Urzikstan in any color as long as it’s gray.

New Feature: Hot Zones (Mid-Season)

356e7a1ce24ab62e9ae406bfcc8f61870451bbf9.jpg

Designated points of interest on the map may identified as “Hot Zones.” Get there before the enemy and you’ll be rewarded with higher tier loot than normal. Just be prepared for a vicious battle over who gets to claim this enhanced gear!

New Feature: [[REDACTED]] Weapons (Mid-Season)

d2faa73983c3c69a9e833c6e85201b4feb01c7b8.jpg

By the time you reach mid-season, you may be wishing for impressive and rare weaponry to deal with enhanced threats across the battlefield. Fortunately, a number of Redacted Weapons, each found within a Hot Zone or Bunker, have been confirmed as Ground Loot to find. Gather these powerful weapons with up to 10 attachments (as denoted above your weapon icon) and finish your foes with the firepower you need!

New Public Event: Runaway Train (Mid-Season)

0eca6bb9dc69c1be8ac5cf8b9695e29255106b45.jpg

Drop into Urzikstan engagements at mid-season, and there’s a small chance your end game occurs on a runaway train. Expect confirmation of this sometime around the sixth gas circle where the Public Event may be announced. Prepare for a wild ride; Operators with memories of “Slay Ride Resurgence” know what to expect. Seek immediate refuge close to the train, which cannot be controlled! Fortunately, the circle of gas (the safe zone) remains over the moving train until the end of the match, forcing squads to battle on or around the careening carriages, though the train itself slows down enough to provide access, as well as unique takedown opportunities.

Multiplayer: Core 6v6 Map: Crash (Launch)

Remastered, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

6cfa814ce44b78cf8f5631bf7d9dd5443f696d8d.jpg

A compact, fan-favorite multiplayer map, check your six and clear the corners as you drop into a town square recently ruined by a crash-landed helicopter. Surrounded by alleyways, tight corners and corridors, and a variety of buildings with upper floors and windows to add verticality to your firefights, expect face-paced combat. This is based on a version of Crash from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).

Proceed with caution as this toxic debris may contain unnatural elements dangerous to humans.

Rebirth Island Map Update: Chemical Storage Units (Launch)

77a969839c1706a7cda996e5573db203edb17a7f.jpg

Recently, a large cargo ship has docked at the port on Rebirth Island, and imagery confirms the vessel was carrying multiple toxic container racks. This classified bio-tech cargo and other associated technology should be considered dangerous, as nefarious forces may look to transport them to parts unknown within the island itself.

Weapons Detail: Four New Armaments (MWIII, MWZ, WZ, WZM)

6e2f84d2f4b696278ac94c8fb3d86e7fb1a8ea68.jpg

Welcome two old friends back into your arsenal. A new Submarine Gun and legendary Marksman Rifle are available for free in the Battle Pass at the start of Season 4, with a heavyweight Sledgehammer and the shotgun you’ve been waiting for coming to Season 4 Reloaded.

Superi 46 (Submachine Gun, Launch, Battle Pass Sector 6)

Levels: 21, Battle Pass Blueprint (Sector 20)

02b57270147139761c33624ef801c9a1f8d6e37a.jpg

This pistol-caliber carbine chambered in 4.6x30mm is designed to give impressive stopping power with a skeletonized, lightweight frame. Exceptionally adaptable, this weapon can be modified to excel in most combat scenarios.

As you’d expect given the size of the caliber, the Superi 46 is impressively impactful at closer ranges, with 30 rounds in the chamber and 90 in reserve. However, this SMG offers accuracy to mid-range and above-average recoil control, delivering practicality as well as the firepower you need for most circumstances.

Kar98k (Marksman Rifle, Launch, Battle Pass Sector 5)

Levels: 16, Battle Pass Blueprint (Sector 15)

4bd3018682a2d38113b4303f624b3863298d285a.jpg

This modernized version of a WWII bolt-action rifle is powerful and accurate. High damage output with a slow rate of fire.

Last seen in Call of Duty: Vanguard and found in the MWIII Marksman Rifle Loadout category after unlocking it in the Battle Pass, this archaic-looking rifle with only five rounds before a reload, and ten rounds in reserve, may get overlooked by the uninitiated. Veteran players, however, know this weapon is arguably the hardest-hitting and accurate long-range rifle there is, offering quick ADS speed, massive damage, limited flinch, small but functional iron sight, and rapid takedown potential no matter how far away your foe is.

Reclaimer 18 (Shotgun, Mid-Season)

Levels: 15

dbedc25a0af18aa56a36d4e63c378d421ecdfcce.jpg

Veteran Call of Duty players may know this heavy-hitting, legendary 12-gauge shotgun by another name, and at mid-season you’ll be able to empower your arsenal with this classic slide-action shotgun that packs a rapid and powerful punch. Last seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this new reimagined variant offers a base of eight semi-automatic rounds with 16 in reserve.

Sledgehammer (Melee Weapon, Mid-Season)

565d907f1456b5b6f586e58335ed52ad75f69898.jpg

Levels: 6

Smack some heads with this hammer claw bar Melee weapon.

This bludgeoning behemoth isn’t designed for driving nails into wood, with a 20-pound head forged from carbon steel, beveled so the weapon doesn’t chip when striking, this monster of a melee weapon can inflict massive blunt force damage quickly, knock a foe back with a pole butt, or cause more monumental damage after a brief pause and a swing. Crack some heads with the Sledgehammer.

Eight New Aftermarket Parts (Launch, In-Season, MWIII, MWZ, WZ, WMZ)

b1b71e53117dd86c8ce6cacb141fd199324db885.jpg

Another eight new Aftermarket Parts are confirmed for Season 4, with most unlockable via a Weekly Challenge. Take your favorite weapon, or dust off an armament from your MWII gun collection, and slot in an interesting, esoteric, or downright bizarre modification. Hoping to chamber your M4 Assault Rifle in .50 Cal? Then crack open the JAK Harbinger Kit, the first Weekly Challenge reward! This season’s Aftermarket Part attachments are listed below:

WZM CONNECTED: All Season 4 Aftermarket Parts are also unlockable throughout the season by spending Arsenal Coins in the Arsenal Store (Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile only), after which they can be used across all games.

MODERN WARFARE III OVERVIEW [MWIII]

ddd0aa0f623e21855bdfff7314c9aa903d2fc778.jpg

CONTENT SUMMARY:
  • Introducing Minefield and Escort. Watch your step in Minefield and hack multiple points on the map alongside a MAW in Escort.
  • Two 6v6 Multiplayer Maps. Head to the wrong part of town in the brand-new Grime map and test your skills on Checkpoint based on the Stronghold area of Rebirth Island.
  • Power Up in the Arcade Playlist. From unlimited ammo modifiers to ultra-powerful weapon pickups, Arcade transforms the Multiplayer experience into a full-blown power simulation.
New Modes: Minefield, Escort

Minefield

2746559b6281e59186300da926e46d703b3bbfca.jpg

Watch your step in the new Minefield game mode, adding an explosive new dynamic to a variety of Multiplayer modes. In this variant, players still adhere to each mode’s basic ruleset with an important caveat: Eliminated Operators drop a Proximity Mine where they fall. The mine cannot be picked up and is deadly to the fallen Operator’s team, setting up the potential for some truly explosive combos.

As the eliminations start racking up, the action grows more intense, challenging players to watch their step while pursuing the next target.

Escort

c1a34f3de49f3bb8ea80ab566f5129d4c9d807db.jpg

In Escort, teams take turns escorting a MAW through the environment with the goal of hacking three points across the map. The MAW only moves forward if an attacking Operator is nearby and will move in reverse if a defending Operator closes the distance.

Matches take place over two rounds, giving each team a turn on attack and defense. The team who hacks the most points or who hacks all three points in the shortest amount of time wins the match.

Two Core 6v6 Maps: Grime, Checkpoint

Grime [6v6]

Brand-New, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

75092a32ee2c1f0ac3ffb711a5d5358ffe19a218.jpg

Navigate an abandoned corner of London as you weave through Grime’s dockside district, a graffiti-laden hub featuring the remnants of the once lively SKN Comms building beside the Captain’s Dog pub and the now-defunct boat house. Swim through the murky waters of the canal and battle along the docks. Surviving this derelict urban location will require smart use of the map’s chokepoints and a penchant for dirty tactics.

For an interactive Tac-Map and full guide to Grime, click here on Monday April 29.

Checkpoint (6v6)

New [Repurposed], Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

49729253dd8065200332ec390526453f7d2e03d1.jpg

With Rebirth Island out in the wild, there’s a good chance that you’ve already engaged in combat in the original version of this area based on the island’s Stronghold POI. This modified Multiplayer variant, known as Checkpoint, keeps the fight focused in and around the main buildings of the military comms outpost in a modified version of the map where the upper walkways and control tower are sealed off, emphasizing combat on the ground. Battle within the armory and garage or take on foes in the forward construction site and rear roundabout.

For an interactive Tac-Map and full guide to Checkpoint, click here on Monday April 29.

Power Up in the Arcade Playlist

f21fc6bee9074505f646fd990eaa2a83ad3904dc.jpg

Boost your powers exponentially with the mid-season Arcade playlist, supporting a variety of maps and modes featuring powerups and special weapon pickups.

Powerups: Eliminated enemies will drop a powerup where they fall, granting one of two temporary abilities on pickup: unlimited ammo or unlimited grenades. Let loose on your foes without mundane concerns like ammo supply and grenade count.

Weapon Pickups: Bring the pain with special weapon pickups scattered throughout the environment, immediately noticeable by their glowing effects and floating animation.

These empowered weapons include the Punch Knife with a dramatically increased lunge distance, the MORS Sniper Rifle and Riveter Shotgun loaded with explosive projectile rounds, and a Minigun that provides a constant Battle Rage effect for improved health regeneration, resistance to Tactical Equipment, and a constant refresh on your Tactical Sprint.

The Vortex Playlist Returns

ab09e6c3bf0ba52e1e68296b201db0eb2d91f7eb.jpg

Redeploy to the otherworldly Vortex Playlist, which goes live again for a limited time in the mid-season. Return, if you dare, to the infected environments of Airborne, Satan’s Quarry, Skidgrow, Sporeyard, and Tetanus. Keep cool and focus on the objective in the Vortex Mosh Pit or risk losing your sanity to these twisted map variants.

New Field Upgrade and Equipment

New Field Upgrade:
Enhanced Vision Goggles

bc9e13e6d9a90ecf1d16b01927280f89b53ba95b.jpg

Toggle on the Enhanced Vision Goggles for improved target acquisition in the midst of battle. The goggles feature limited battery, displayed by the Field Upgrade charge which depletes as the gadget is in use.

New Tactical: EMD Mine

Deploy this proximity-triggered mine that sticks to surfaces. Once triggered, the mine fires tracking devices that attach to nearby enemy Operators, revealing their position on the minimap for improved tracking.

MODERN WARFARE ZOMBIES OVERVIEW [MWZ]

adca5d9d4efd5a5266715229758dcf506fcd6886.jpg

  • Rescue Dr. Jansen. In the next Story Mission, Operators join Ravenov in a rescue mission to retrieve Dr. Ava Jansen after she was lured into a Dark Aether Rift.
  • Earn New Schematics. Acquire up to three new schematics to aid you in your future deployments to the Exclusion Zone.
  • Face Warlord Rainmaker. Seek out the new Warlord in their fortress on Rahaa Island. Be prepared for explosive combat against this demolitions expert.

The Next Chapter: Saving Dr. Jansen

185c8fb115d229137857e7ec2981cb58ca01d641.jpg

A new anomaly strikes the Exclusion Zone as the third Dark Aether Rift appears. Dr. Jansen has been lured through its portal, and the members of Operation Deadbolt must now conduct a rescue mission with Ravenov’s help to get her back before it’s too late. Prepare to face off against a horde of foes in this mid-season Story Mission, including a new Disciple variant that will put your squad’s slaying skills to the test.

Seek out and attune the required relics after completing the Story Mission to re-open the Dark Aether Rift for subsequent runs. Complete the objectives within to acquire new powerful schematics.

New Schematics

7cf53cf2ee7c41658537449f7160186b7d99d2f3.jpg

Dead Wire Detonators: Electrify your blasts for massive damage using the Dead Wire Detonators, adding the Dead Wire Ammo Mod effect to all of your explosive armaments, including Lethals and Launchers. This is sure to come in handy when facing off against the Dark Aether Rift’s new Disciple variant.

Golden Mask Filter: Forget the constant search for a functioning gas mask when approaching strongholds and other areas where gas threatens to suffocate incoming Operators. Attaching the Golden Mask Filter to a gas mask causes its charge to self-regenerate over time. The mask can still break if its charge is fully used up in one go, though the filter will be reapplied to the next one you find.

f99d75b419426ce25b054ca4dbf79f6eeb3dcff5.jpg

Sergeant’s Beret: With the undead roaming around, you’ve got enough to worry about before taking Zakhaev’s Mercs into consideration. Don the Sergeant’s Beret to trick the faction into thinking that you’re one of their own. As a bonus, you’ll gain a Merc Bodyguard who fearlessly follows you into the action.

New Warlord: Rainmaker

3a12d0dd3439959ad533d227fef14fa16dbf8981.jpg

Challengers of the new Warlord Rainmaker will need to plan their tactics carefully when approaching this artillery and demolitions expert. Find him in his fortress on Rahaa Island in the southeastern Urzikstan Exclusion Zone, where he’s supported by an army that he’s only too willing to expend in pursuit of annihilating Operation Deadbolt.

Expect mortar rounds and RPG fire on approach. Bring reliable transport to breach the fortress combined with long-ranged support to whittle down the enemy forces from afar. Remain cautious after breaching the walls, as the Warlord has set multiple traps to catch unsuspecting Operators. When you get to the Warlord himself, be ready to inflict maximum pain.

CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE OVERVIEW [WZ]

raises the number of armor plates players can carry, buffing the total number of health points from 150 to 200 for the whole match. For more information, click here.

Gear Up with the new Utility Box Field Upgrade (Rebirth Island)

The Utility Box combines Ammo and Armor Boxes together allowing Operators to resupply everything ranging from bullets to grenades. Purchase the box at Buy Stations or as a piece of ground loot.

Weapon Trade Station (Rebirth Island)

The Weapon Trade Station returns to help fill your pockets. Trade in your weapon for one of a lower rarity plus some extra loot. Rarity is determined by your weapon’s total attachments and is displayed by its color in the weapon info box, from most common to least common as follows: Gray, Green, Blue, Purple, and Orange. The weapon you trade in returns one of two rarity levels lower (or “more common”).

The extra items that drop may include ammo, cash, and equipment (Tacticals, Lethals, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, Gas Masks). With some luck, trading in a powerful weapon may even reward the Specialist Perk Package, with even better rewards during a Fire Sale!

Perk Package: Specialist (Rebirth Island)

Become the ultimate Operator if you’re lucky enough to come across the rare Specialist Perk Package. With Specialist activated, your Operator will benefit from ALL available Perks. The complete list of abilities include:
  • Perk Slots 1 and 2 (all Perks active): Battle Hardened, Double Time, E.O.D., Focus, Irradiated, Mechanic, Mountaineer, Scavenger, Shrapnel, Sleight of Hand, Spotter, Strong Arm.
  • Perk Slot 3 (all Perks active): Cold-Blooded, Escapist, Payout, Primed, Quick Fix, Resupply, Stalker, Survivor, Tempered, Tracker.
  • Perk Slot 4 (all Perks active): Birdseye, Combat Scout, Flex, Ghost, High Alert, Resolute, Shrouded.
As a force to be reckoned with, this is your surest bet toward victory. Good luck finding it.

New Killstreak — Foresight (Rebirth Island)

Perfect your strategy by seeing what’s coming with Foresight, showing you the location of every future gas circle in the match. Find the new Killstreak as a piece of rare loot. Strategize accordingly to make the most out of the intel you’re given, setting up for the win where you know the gas will end up at the match’s end.

And More on the Way

Along with upcoming playlists like Loaded Resurgence (at Mid-Season Launch) and Rebirth Lockdown (later into the Season), keep an eye out for the new Utility Box Field Upgrade, providing ammo, armor plates, and extra equipment to stock up your Operator for the most vicious battles ahead. And beef up through the Heavy Armor Public Event, adding a permanent extra plate slot to all Armor Plate Carriers for the rest of the match.

Something is happening with the Bunkers on Urzikstan, too. Curious squads who explore these areas are apt to discover the rewards within. That isn’t all that’s coming, either, though some [[REDACTED]] surprises are best left to our players to uncover.

“A bullpup prototype weapon designed to increase fire rate over time while the trigger is squeezed. The first 4 shots are slower to fire but highly accurate.”

The top-loading BAL-27 Assault Rifle offers quick reloads and a unique firing mechanism whereby the initial four shots favor accuracy before the weapon kicks into a higher fire rate to finish the job and bring down your target fast. Pump the trigger at greater distances to benefit from the improved accuracy of its first shots or hold down the trigger to spray enemies up close.

The BAL-27 introduces new Weapon Camos in both Multiplayer and Zombies, accessible by completing BAL-27-specific in-game challenges.
