Hotfix 0.1.2.2 Now Live - Changelog

Hey Everyone,

Hotfix 0.1.2.2 includes notable improvements aimed at enhancing your gameplay experience, including more reductions to rubberbanding. Please read through the notes and share your feedback. Your input is valuable as we continue to optimize Gray Zone Warfare for better performance and enjoyment.

FIXED
  • Players no longer lose task progress when the game crashes
  • Too many items in nested containers no longer lead to an Online persistence error
  • Fixed an error that mistakenly showed old drivers on systems with an integrated Intel graphics card
  • Choice-based tasks no longer disappear after a crash
  • Another round of fixes for bulletproof windows in Forth Narith, Midnight Sapphire, and Tiger Bay
  • When the voice chat fails to connect to the server on startup, it will now attempt to reconnect automatically
  • Re-enabling squad chat in settings no longer causes player voices to be distorted
  • Muting a player in the squad now works correctly
  • Turning off the voice chat now works correctly. This setting now controls both proximity and squad chat
  • Fixed two crashes related to the voice chat
  • Fixed a crash related to the messenger
  • Fixed a bug where players were unable to switch weapons, loot, or sprint after using a knife
  • Players can now use the knife correctly while walking

ADDED
  • A GPU crash debugging tool in the graphics settings. Use it for detailed crash data, but note it may impact performance, so only enable it if you experience regular GPU crashes.
  • Additional measures to reduce rubberbanding

GZW Patch 0.1.2 Is Now LIVE

We're excited to announce that Patch 0.1.2 is now live. You can find the full patch notes below. We know the journey has had its bumps and bruises, and we deeply appreciate your patience, support, and understanding.

-PATCH NOTES-

ADDED:

  • 9 new landing zones for more convenient traveling to specific areas; adjusted terrain to accommodate them
  • A missing notification when trying to invite a friend to a squad when they are already in the squad
  • A notification that there is no ammo/magazine in pockets when trying to reload
  • Confirmation dialog for various squad and friend actions
  • Missing sound effects on the character creation screen
  • Notification for players to claim their edition rewards
  • Optimizations to reduce rubberbanding
  • Separate sensitivity settings for aiming down sights
  • Sounds to vendor progression actions
  • The missing radiation in the Ground Zero area (it is now deadly when you enter the area)
  • The pick-up and destination zone description to the helicopter widget
  • Various VRAM optimizations
  • Vendor confirmation when leaving vendor screen with items in the basket using Back/Escape

  • Leaning is now disabled during provision animations

  • An issue where quest interactions were active after a quest had failed
  • An issue where sometimes items would disappear while moving them in the inventory
  • An issue with selecting a faction on the character creation screen
  • Being unable to invite a player to squad after kicking them
  • Being unable to join a server with your squad if the leader is already on a server
  • Destroyed heart not visible on the health panel
  • Disappearing sleeves when looking around while in ADS
  • Failed to load Skalla.dll on supported PCs or when the folder name where the game is installed contained a non-ASCII character (please note that this doesn't change the compatibility of old CPUs without AVX2 support)
  • Flickering sunlight coming through a window in Forth Narith
  • Glass on some doors and windows, which caused them to be bulletproof
  • Graphical artifacts caused by shadows on windows
  • Helicopter being stuck between Delta and Echo
  • Helicopter failing to arrive after dying far from a LZ, blocking the LZ
  • Improved AI navigation through the double door
  • Improved the character shadows while moving in the water

GZW Patch 2: Final Phase of Testing

The FINAL Gray Zone Warfare Patch 2 PUBLIC TESTING is here. Thanks to your feedback, we have made numerous improvements to Patch 2 and added a major rubberbanding fix that we need to stress test with your help.

Patch 2 Testing Final Reprosteps Solo:


Players in coma can't be shot:

1. Join the PvEvP server (Warfare) in a squad or find a teammate
2. Player 1 shoots Player 2 until Player 2 falls into a Coma.
3. Player 1 kills Player 2 while he is in a Coma.
Result: Player 2 should die after being shot while in Coma. If not, please mark what Player 2 was doing before falling into a coma and if they were able to skip coma and respawn?

Lights inside buildings are flickering:

1. Connect to the server
2. Go to multiple buildings
3. Observe the behavior of the light
Results: The light should not flicker.


Patch 2 Testing Final Reprosteps Squads:

Squad VOIP issues:


1. Invite at least 1 player into the squad.
2. Turn off the squad VOIP in audio settings.
3. Try to communicate through voice with other squad members.
4. Check that the player that has the VOIP turned off is unable to hear other party members and that other squad members are unable to hear that player.
Result: A player should not hear other squad members, nor should they hear the player after deactivating squad VOIP. If that is not the case, please mark what you were doing before changing the settings.

The Squad Leader is unable to invite a player to the squad after kicking them.

1. In the lobby (Main Menu), Player 1 creates a Squad with Player 2.
2. Player 1 kicks Player 2 from the Squad.
3. Player 1 opens the Friends tab and attempts to invite to squad the Player 2 again.
Result: Player 1 should be able to invite Player 2 back into the squad after kicking them. If not, please mark what happened before.

Patch 2 Key Changes:
▪️ 9 more LZs have been added.
▪️ Pickup and destination are displayed in Heli details.
▪️ A new setting for mouse sensitivity in ADS is available.
▪️ Further improvements have been targeted at reducing rubberbanding.
▪️ The issue of AI getting stuck and being able to shoot through walls in the bunker has been fixed.
▪️ The issue of dead bodies falling through floors in buildings has been fixed.
▪️ The problem of helicopters getting stuck in the air has been fixed.
▪️ Skipping a coma no longer displays the message "You killed yourself."

GZW Patch 2 is Now Available For Public Testing

Welcome to Part 1 of the Gray Zone Warfare Patch 2 Public Playtest

Prepare for our biggest playtest yet, featuring important changes and improvements based on your feedback and suggestions.

Instead of traditional testing with pre-defined reprosteps, please play the game as usual and report any issues via this form. Dive into the game and experience the new features firsthand. Your feedback is crucial.

Patch 2 Key Changes:
▪️ 9 more LZs have been added.
▪️ Pickup and destination are displayed in Heli details.
▪️ A new setting for mouse sensitivity in ADS is available.
▪️ Further improvements have been targeted at reducing rubberbanding.
▪️ The issue of AI getting stuck and being able to shoot through walls in the bunker has been fixed.
▪️ The issue of dead bodies falling through floors in buildings has been fixed.
▪️ The problem of helicopters getting stuck in the air has been fixed.
▪️ Skipping a coma no longer displays the message "You killed yourself."


Known Issues:
▪️ Players can get stuck behind a ledge in Midnight Sapphire.
▪️ Players are unable to use the mouse wheel in certain situations (scope with zoom optics, dynamic crouch..).
▪️ When the squad leader changes while the invite is pending, the invited member cannot join after being invited by the new squad leader.
▪️ Supporter editions owner cannot use the RC1 suppressor immediately.
▪️ Lighting issues on 3060ti with FSR enabled.

Your progression in the public-experimental branch was copied yesterday from your live server progression. This allows you to play with your latest gear and tasks but does not affect your progression in the live servers

How do you join the public-experimental branch?

1. Go offline and online in Steam (via the Steam tab in the upper left corner).
2. Right-click on Gray Zone Warfare and select "Properties."
3. In the "Betas" tab, click on "none" ("Beta Participation" section) and select "public-experimental."
4. Update the game.

HOTFIX 5.2 ROLLBACK

We're issuing a rollback to investigate the cause of the issues.

We appreciate our community's support and ask for your patience as we work to resolve these problems and improve in the future.

The rollback means we are reverting to the Hotfix 4 version of Gray Zone Warfare until we can address the performance issues.


Hotfix 4 Known Issues:

  • Task items disappearing after double-clicking the "Hand over" button.
  • Task items failing to respawn when destroyed in the locker.
  • Blockers in the "The More the Merrier" task.
  • Rubberbanding issues.

GZW Patch 1 Live Now

Hey everyone,

Patch 1 for Gray Zone Warfare is now live, addressing over 200 issues players have reported. We're already hard at work on future patches, so stay tuned.

PATCH NOTES:
[FIXED] An issue where vegetation sometimes didn't react appropriately to shooting
[FIXED] An issue where the main menu song would keep playing after joining a server
[FIXED] An issue where the character could get stuck in a crouch in 3PV
[FIXED] An issue where the character could get stuck in a levitating pose in 3PV
[FIXED] An issue where the Add Member button was active even if the squad was full
[FIXED] An issue where the squad member status wasn't displayed properly
[FIXED] An issue where squad invitation pop-up didn't appear after adding a friend
[FIXED] An issue where the squad invitation notification was not displayed under specific circumstances
[FIXED] An issue where squad chat was present after leaving the squad
[FIXED] An issue where sounds near open doors did not play properly
[FIXED] An issue where some vegetation wouldn't make any rustle sounds when players walked through it
[FIXED] An issue where private chat was present after blocking a friend
[FIXED] An issue where players were unable to perform any action after vaulting

[FIXED] An issue where empty magazines would refill after connecting to a server
[FIXED] An issue where dead bodies would sometimes sink below ground
[FIXED] An issue where clicking outside of the confirmation prompt closed the prompt completely
[FIXED] An issue where the blood effect after hitting an enemy was not always present
[FIXED] An issue where AIs could not shoot players when they got too close.
[FIXED] An issue where AI in Sawmill were spawned without ammo
[FIXED] An issue where AI could spawn partially below the ground
[FIXED] An issue where AI could disappear near bushes or water in towns
[FIXED] An issue where a variant of the Type 51 pistol was set up incorrectly, resulting in missed shots
[FIXED] An issue where a dead AI would stand up and stay in an A-pose
[FIXED] An issue that blocked the progression of quests Art of Deception and It's in the water
[FIXED] Broken landscape near Foxtrot 2 LZ
[FIXED] Several spots where players could get stuck
[FIXED] The reticle on Viper RD red dot sight
[FIXED] Various client crashes

Changes
[CHANGED] Reduced hitches when flying the helicopter
[CHANGED] Players can now re-bind voice chat activation, map, health panel, inventory, tasks to a different key
[CHANGED] Increased the time between character wipes to 1 week (up from 1 hour)
[CHANGED] Improved Shotgun Slug damage
[CHANGED] Improved prone movement on sloped or uneven surfaces
[CHANGED] Added a reminder to claim DLC rewards from the messenger
[CHANGED] Added safeguards to prevent exploiting of grenades to kill players and AI in FOB
[CHANGED] Improved quest item spawn locations for the quest The More the Merrier
